I am a freelance photographer with a specialty in sports, action, and natural shots. Photography is the one hobby that has stuck with me most of my life, ever since my dad gave me my first Canon AE-1 as a child. It even used film! One of my other hobbies that I have had from my youth is sports. I like them all, especially youth, high school, and college sports. I love to capture the intensity of the younger athletes in the game trying to make it “BIG” one day.
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot a number of the high school and youth sporting events in the Cherokee and Bartow County areas. I share most of my work on my website, www.g-roxphotos.com and can often be seen in several of the local news prints. This year, I won 1st Place in Georgia Press Association “Better Newspaper” Contest for Sports Photography for a photo that ran in the Cherokee Ledger-News.
I grew up in North Carolina, attended Brevard College and Western Carolina University. I moved to the Atlanta area in the year 2001. My wife and I reside in Cherokee County and stay busy raising 5 wonderful children. Except for our newest addition, born in January, all of our children are active in sports year-round. Even the baby seems to be happiest in a gym or at the ball fields.
