$200,000 Splash Pad to Replace Baby Pool at Wills Park

Alpharetta City Council will hear a recommendation to award a bid to replace existing structure, built in 1987, with a water feature to serve all pool patrons.

Alpharetta City Council is expected tonight to award a maximum $200,000 for a contractor to replace the outdated baby pool at the City Pool in Wills Park with a splash pad. The city will only have to fund half of that amount, as it received a $100,000 Land and Water Conservation Grant last year. The council will vote on the bid during its meeting tonight, Jan. 7, at Alpharetta City Hall. The baby pool was built in 1987 and is no longer ADA compliant. It also is structurally in bad shape. Alpharetta Recreation and Parks staff determined that a splash pad would serve pool patrons of all ages, while a baby pool only serves children age 5 and under.
