A suspect in the shooting death at an Alpharetta townhome development near Old Milton Parkway has been captured. The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety announced that Shane Demetrice Woods was arrested in Georgia. Woods was captured by the United States Marshal's Southeastern Fugitive Task Force with assistance by the Fulton County Sheriffs Office, according to George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. He has been transported to Alpharetta's jail annex. Woods was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Zachary Rose of Canton on Jan. 28. A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the shooting death of a Canton man at an Alpharetta townhome.
Alpharetta detectives believe a murder suspect is hiding in the metro Atlanta area, but they've been unable to find him. So the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has renewed its call and an offer of a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Shane Demetrice Woods. Woods is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Zachary Rose, 22, of Canton, on Jan. 25. Rose was visiting a friend at the Stoneridge townhome subdivision in Alpharetta when someone knocked on the door. After the door was answered, Rose was shot in the lower abdomen. A 77-year-old man has been arrested and charged with one count of murder in the death of his son-in-law.
Authorities have arrested a man in connection with Thursday night's fatal shooting in a north Forsyth County subdivision, according to a news release by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Larry Martin, 77, of Cumming, has been arrested and charged with one count of murder in the death of his son-in-law Ronald E. Priester of Aldridge Court located in the Lake Astoria subdivision. According to Sheriff Ted Paxton, Martin lived in the basement of the Priester home and was at the residence when deputies arrived Thursday night after responding to a 911 call that someone had been shot. “We have recovered what appears to be the weapon used to kill Mr. Priester,” said Sheriff Paxton. The victim, 41-year-old Ronald Priester, was found dead by his wife from an apparent gunshot wound in their home on Aldridge Court in the Lake Astoria subdivision in north Forsyth County. She made the discovery upon her return home from an out-of-town business trip. Deputies responded to a call of a person shot around 8 p.m. at the residence, according to Sheriff Ted Paxton.
