Price of Stamps Increased on Sunday

The debut of the U.S. Postal Service's 46-cent Forever stamps brings rate changes on Jan. 27.

Mailing a letter just got more expensive. As of today, the cost of a first-class stamp rose to 46 cents. The U.S. Post Office announced that stamp prices would increase one cent to make way for the new 46-cent Forever stamp. The price to mail a one-ounce letter will increase from 45 cents to 46 cents. Adding a little weight to that letter will cost the same, rising 20 cents for each additional ounce. The announcement states letters under one ounce mailed anywhere internationally will cost $1.10 and postcard stamps will also see a one-cent increase, from 32 cents to 33 cents. It's Your Last Day to Get Santa to Reply to Children's Letters

Thanks to a very special U.S. Postal Service program, "Santa" will reply to children in Alpharetta and Milton who mail him their Christmas wish lists this holiday season.

Every year, millions of children sit down to make a wish list for Santa, hoping he will make all of their Christmas dreams come true. But what if Santa actually wrote back? The United States Postal Service is now accepting "Letters From Santa," a program that allows any person to play Santa by sending a letter signed by Saint Nick to any child. According to a postal service news release, "The 'Letters From Santa' program helps parents fulfill the dreams of their own children."
