South Forsyth Man Arrested in Stolen Eagle Sculpture Case

Pedro Castro Garcia was apprehended by authorities around noon Monday at his residence in south Forsyth.

  A 29-year-old south Forsyth County man was arrested Monday in connection with the theft of the bronze eagle sculpture taken from the Forsyth Big Creek Greenway three weeks ago. Pedro Castro Garcia was apprehended by authorities around noon today [Monday] at his residence located on Hwy. 9 North in Alpharetta. He was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, according to investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The eagle sculpture was located on Wednesday, Sept. 12, in a storage shed at Garcia’s residence following a tip from Lance White, owner of Lance's Jewelry and president of the Humane Society of Forsyth County, to Forsyth County Commissioner Todd Levent. Hopefully they don't put it back. We loved the statue, but glad it is home safe. I also think the guy should pay back to the community for stealing it. He has probably never even has stepped foot on the greenway to excerise, only to steal. Keep him away from us   more ›
