The victim told Milton police on Aug. 18 that a Wells Fargo branch employee told him a woman had opened up another checking account, listing herself as the primary owner and him as the secondary owner. A suspected shoplifter at Dillard's gave the loss prevention officer so much trouble that North Point Mall security officers had to help subdue and handcuff the man in an incident on June 2. The Dillard employee said he watched the suspect conceal several items in a bag, and left the store without paying for them. A check of the bag revealed 18 shirts that cost $1,633. An Alpharetta police officer searched the suspect and discovered a counterfeit $20 and $5 bill. The suspect, who called himself "Martin Brown," said, "I just found those." William B. A Milton woman who put her iPad up for sale on Craigslist tried her best to protect herself from potential problems, but she still lost her iPad to a thief and had nothing of value to show for it. The woman first told a man interested in the iPad that she wouldn't talk with him until he called back from a number not blocked on caller ID. Next she set up a meeting in a public place, the Exxon station on Morris Road. But then things got a little strange. The man wouldn't come out of his car, asking her to come to the window. But she refused to come near his car. Rather than get out of the car, he sent a 9 or 10-year-old boy to check out the iPad. She showed the boy that it turned on and worked, and the boy returned to the car to get the $200…

A manager at Firehouse Subs on GA 9 checked a $100 bill twice because a customer acted very nervous when she tested the bill to see if it was counterfeit after the man had ordered food on Oct. 18 at 7:27 p.m. The pen she used to check didn't show it was counterfeit, but checking the back of the bill showed the printing was crooked. When she held it up to the light, she could see it was a $5 bill that had been printed over. She asked for another form of payment because the bill was counterfeit, and the man gave her a credit card, which was declined. The man acted agitated when she refused to return the counterfeit bill. Three days later another man tried to pass another counterfeit $100 bill and the manager caught this one also. The man …
