A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the shooting death of a Canton man at an Alpharetta townhome.
Alpharetta detectives believe a murder suspect is hiding in the metro Atlanta area, but they've been unable to find him. So the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has renewed its call and an offer of a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Shane Demetrice Woods. Woods is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Zachary Rose, 22, of Canton, on Jan. 25. Rose was visiting a friend at the Stoneridge townhome subdivision in Alpharetta when someone knocked on the door. After the door was answered, Rose was shot in the lower abdomen. Alpharetta investigators are conducing a manhunt to find a suspect in the Whitestone Ridge shooting.
UPDATE: The shooting victim died after being taken to North Fulton Hospital Monday night. The man was shot in Stoneridge subdivision early Monday evening, and Alpharetta investigators were searching for a suspect. The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where investigators had gone to question him about the shooting, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesman George Gordon. The Alpharetta Dispatch Center received a call at 6:24 p.m. from a man who said he saw a man shot. Alpharetta police and fire units responded to the call at a townhome on Whitestone Ridge, a street within Stoneridge.
