FIXED: Water Main Break Repairs Completed, Water Service Restored

Residents of an Alpharetta subdivision and some other homes nearby can once again shower, wash clothes and flush toilets after Fulton County made repairs.

FIXED - 6 p.m.: After a little more than four hours of work, a water main break on Marietta Street in Alpharetta has been repaired by a crew from the Fulton County Water Resources. Original Article: A water main break on Marietta Street in Alpharetta has cut water to all of Wilshire Glen Subdivision and 15 homes on Marietta Street. Fulton County Water Resources is responding to the water main break on Marietta Street near Old Milton Parkway, according an alert by Fulton County.  The release said there will be minimal traffic impact on Marietta Street, with no lane closure anticipated. Haynes Bridge Road Rerouting Costs Soar, But Alpharetta Won't Pay

The city is entering into an agreement with Fulton County for it to pay for its water transmission line upgrades.

The cost of moving Haynes Bridge Road to make way for the Alpharetta City Center just grew by more than $1.3 million, but the city won't be footing the bill for the extra work. City Council is expected to approve an agreement tonight, Feb. 20, at its meeting at City Hall, with Fulton County to do the work. The city had a similar agreement with the county on water pipes under the roadway improvements constructed as part of the Kimball Bridge Road – Waters Road intersection project. Fulton County is in the midst of a project to upgrade a water transmission line between the Jones Bridge/Buice Road intersection and Mayfield Road. UPDATE: Fulton County Installing 7 Miles of Water Main in Alpharetta, Johns Creek

The Public Works Department has cancelled a public meeting to answer questions about the project that had been scheduled on Sept. 13.

UPDATED SEPT. 8: Grab your planner or go to your computer calendar and delete Fulton County Public Works' Sept. 13 meeting–the agency has cancelled that meeting without setting a new date. The Public Works department had scheduled the meeting to explain what it will be doing in Alpharetta and Johns Creek for the next few years. No word has been provided yet on when the department will reschedule this public meeting to discuss the upcoming Alpharetta water transmission main capital improvement project. The project involves the installation of approximately 7 miles of water mains and its ancillaries in Alpharetta and Johns Creek. The new pipeline will begin at the intersection of Jones Bridge Road and Buice Road, and will end at Mayfield …
