The Fulton County Department of Registration & Elections will hold an information session for residents and community partners on Monday, Oct. 8. Information Session The session is intended to provide stakeholders with an update about the upcoming Nov. 6 General Election, including the Oct. 9 voter registration deadline, early voting, Family Voting Day, voting by mail, voter ID requirements and more. Community organizations will receive an information tool kit to help them keep community members updated about key dates and activities related to the General Election. The City of Milton is coming up on its sixth birthday, and looking back at all the issues we’ve encountered, there’s one that continues to linger, despite our best efforts: residents not realizing they live in Milton. Don’t get me wrong – it’s getting better every day. But still, there are a number of reasons for the confusion: being surrounded by long-standing and popular communities; the inability for mapping software and widely-used address databases to keep Milton as a location over Alpharetta or Roswell (due in part to year scrubbings of the data, we’re told); and the simple fact that Milton is a town in which Old Milton Parkway does not exist, and neither does Milton Center, the former site of Milton High School (luckily, though, …

Prince Brothers' Funeral Service To Be Tuesday in Suwanee –Suwanee Patch The funeral service for Griffin and Jake Prince, the Buford brothers who were killed in the boating collision last month on Lake Lanier, will be Tuesday in Suwanee. The service will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4833 Suwanee Dam Road, according to a statement issued Monday by representatives of the Prince family. This church is very near North Gwinnett High School. The Prince family asks that attendance be limited to family and close friends, the spokesperson said.
