'The Lorax' is a Modern Makeover for Dr. Seuss

The big movie this week is a Dr. Suess classic that's an environmental cautionary tale all spun into a 3D animation.

It's a deforestation fable about the effects of an industrialized society and its effects on the environment. Sounds a bit complicated, but it is a family film: Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax." Zac Efron is the voice of Ted, a 12-year-old living in a not so environmentally friendly world. He wants to get his sweetheart, Audrey (voice by Taylor Swift), a real tree to win her over. Ted then sets out for the one person, or thing, that will help him out. An orange, mustachioed environmentalist known as the Lorax, an optimistic guardian of the forest who “speaks for the trees” and sounds suspiciously like Danny DeVito. Taylor Swift Calls Alpharetta College Student Her Hero

Milton High graduate James O'Dwyer will be seen on nick@nite Sunday as a 2011 HALO Award winner, and is the Friday, Nov. 4 Greatest Person of the Day for Huffington Post.

Taylor Swift has a hero, and he's an Alpharetta, GA, college student who started his own charity to help victims of tornadoes that swept through Alabama and Georgia on April 27. James O'Dwyer was honored in the 2011 HALO Awards, being presented on nick@nite Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. O'Dwyer also has been chosen as the Huffington Post Greatest Person of the Day for Friday, Nov. 4. O'Dwyer was a college freshman at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL on April 27 when a devastating tornado formed in Alabama. The university was closed, and students sent home when they could make it.
