Whitney Houston's Adopted Son Arrested in Alpharetta

Nicholas David Gordon was stopped for speeding, reckless driving on North Point Parkway Wednesday night.

On the same day that Whitney Houston's daughter was cited in a traffic accident, her adopted son was charged with reckless driving and speeding in Alpharetta for allegedly driving 82 mph on North Point Parkway. The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety reports that Nicholas David Gordon, 23, of Alpharetta, was arrested and charged after a car police say he was driving was stopped at 6:39 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, on North Point Parkway near North Point Mall. An Alpharetta police officer assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit was operating a laser speed detection device on North Point Parkway when an incident report states he saw a gray Chevrolet Camaro speeding. Jail Search Adds to Unemployed Alpharetta Man's Troubles

  An unemployed Alpharetta man faces drug charges after being arrested on a traffic stop and taken to the Alpharetta Jail. An Alpharetta police officer checking for speeders Sept. 11 at 9:29 a.m. on Westside Parkway spotted an SUV moving faster than the posted 40 mph speed limit. A check with his laser showed the speed was 64 mph, so he made a traffic stop, according to a police incident report. The driver was found to have his license suspended for failure to appear, so he was charged with speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license. Once a deputy at the jail took charge of his new prisoner, he found the suspect had hidden a black pouch on himself that contained hypodermic needles, small spoons and several empty bags of what …

UPDATE: Road Rage Starts in Johns Creek, Ends in Wills Park

A road rage incident involving an off-duty Fulton Schools police officer started in Johns Creek and ended with a morning chase through Wills Park in Alpharetta, according to police reports from both the Johns Creek and Alpharetta police departments. The off duty officer called Johns Creek police shortly before 8 a.m. on May 29 to report that a black Nissan with no rear bumper cover attempted to ram his vehicle while at the BP gas station at the intersection of State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads in Johns Creek. He said that the passenger shouted to him to "Get the f*** out of our way," and repeated that as the two men got out of the Altima and walked toward his car as if to fight. Roswell Man Charged with Breaking Into Cars

A front desk clerk at LA Fitness in Alpharetta saw a man exit the building and enter a black Infinity parked in front of the building. After sitting in the vehicle for a few minutes, the man returned to the building, walking straight into the men's locker room. A little while later, the man once again went out to the parking lot, getting into a Volvo this time. A few minutes later he was heading back into the locker room. The clerk called Alpharetta police, and the suspect was arrested inside the fitness center. A search of his backpack revealed his Georgia ID card, wallet, some cash and a pair of bolt cutters. Alpharetta Police Find Suspected Narcotics in DUI Stop

A Villa Rica man faces drug and DUI charges after Alpharetta police received multiple reports on April 26 just before 1 p.m. of a vehicle being "all over the road" on GA 400 southbound. The arresting officer waited at the Mansell Road interchange for the vehicle, and when it approached, he saw it was having difficulty staying in its lane. He followed the white car and watched as it moved into the leftmost lane and out of it, almost striking the center divider several times at 72 mph. The motorist pulled over when he activated his lights. Based on his abnormally slow and slurred speech, and his actions, the officer searched the car and found a plastic bag with what he identified as a generic form of Xanax, a narcotic. Failure to Wear Seat Belts Nets Felony Pot Bust

A 21-year-old Birmingham Road resident was arrested for felony possession of marijuana after a Milton police officer pulled over his car on April 4 because he and his passenger weren't wearing seat belts. The Milton officer spotted the car traveling westbound on Crabapple Road and west of Birmingham Highway when he made the traffic stop. When the driver opened his car door, saying the window didn't work, the officer said he smelled marijuana. The driver said he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket, which the officer found. The passenger handed over a bag with a fraction of an ounce of marijuana in it to another officer. Both were initially charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and failure to wear seat belts. But when …

Fulton Schools Bus Driver Accused of Driving Motorcycle 100 MPH

CORRECTION: The female motorist in the first incident listed below involving a motorcycle was only cited for speeding. She did not receive citations for either reckless driving or racing. Motorists don't always seem to realize police have lasers to track their speed and engines capable of catching up to most production vehicles. A 46-year-old Alpharetta woman who identified herself was arrested after her motorcycle was clocked at 100 mph on GA 400 southbound near Windward Parkway on Jan. 29 at 7:41 p.m. The Alpharetta police officer reported that two motorcycles were clocked at that speed. The woman's motorcycle exited at Windward Parkway, while the other motorcycle continued south. She gave police a name and cell phone number for the …

Alpharetta Man Stopped in Milton for Speeding Also Faces Drug Charges

A 35-year-old Alpharetta man stopped for speeding now faces drug charges as well. A Milton officer was running speed checks on Birmingham Highway near Wood Road at 12:29 a.m. on Jan. 28 when two vehicles approached at 66 mph. He pulled behind them and when the lead vehicle failed to slow down, he passed the other car and pulled behind it when it stopped. The driver smelled of alcohol, but refused both field evaluations and a breath test–but he did say he should not be driving. The officer reported the driver as saying he had two shots and two beers at Olde Blind Dog. After handcuffing the suspect, the officer reported finding a small plastic bag on the car's floorboard that contained two types of pills. The driver was cited for DUI, …

Alpharetta police made at least a half dozen DUI arrests over the New Year's holiday weekend. Tires Crossing Yellow Shoulder Line Catch Officer's Eye In the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 30, an Alpharetta police officer pulled behind a line of cars on Haynes Bridge Road near Westside Parkway when she spotted one of the car's tires cross the yellow shoulder line several times before she stopped it. Union City Woman Gets No Help from Mom in Shoplifting Arrest

An unemployed 19-year-old Union City woman was arrested the day after Christmas on a charge of shoplifting items worth more than $300. A Target loss prevention officer stopped the woman whom he said he saw cover the items with her jacket and left the store without paying. Her mother and another woman who were in the Target on North Point Parkway with her said they didn't know anything about the shoplifting. Alpharetta police arrested the woman on the theft by shoplifting greater than $300 charge.
