The Concorde North 12U White Team is looking for players for May and next season, which starts this summer.
Concorde U12 Girls are Vulcan Cup Finalists! Congratulations to the Concorde North 12U White Team, coached by Mike Cediel, who were finalists in the recent Red Diamond Vulcan Cup in Birmingham, AL. The girls have been in three tournaments so far this season—and made it to the finals of all three. The team will be looking for additional players for May tournaments & next season starting this summer. Interested player families should email the team manager, Christine, with name, date of birth, current team and best contact number.

The Concorde 12U White Team, coached by Mike Cediel, celebrated its first tournament win of the year, winning the Concorde Fire Challenge Cup on Feb. 17. After a weekend highlighted by hard-fought victories and one close defeat, the girls won the championship game 6-1. The 2013 Alpharetta Ambush Academy Cup opens today in Alpharetta, with approximately 70 teams in levels U9-U12 for boys and girls visiting fields across the city for the two-day tournament. The Ambush Academy Cup is planned to be an annual event each February that "signals the end of winter and the beginning of another exciting spring season," according to the tournament website. Games will be played in Alpharetta at three venues: Webb Bridge Park, 4780 Webb Bridge Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30005 Alpharetta North Park, 13450 Cogburn Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004 Kings Ridge Christian School, 2765 Bethany Bend, Alpharetta, GA 30004 (Football Stadium) Field turf and natural grass fields will be utilized for the tournament.

An Alpharetta resident was a member of the Clearwater Christian College women's soccer team, which won the National Christian Colleges Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship on Nov. 10. The Lady Cougars clinched a 4-1 victory over Baptist Bible College and won their first ever national title. Also, during regular season play, the Lady Cougars outscored their NCCAA DII opponents 61-2, with 12 shutouts. Amani Morcos of Alpharetta played forward for the 2012 Cougars. A junior Elementary Education major at CCC, she is a graduate of Felllowship Christian School in Roswell, and the daughter of Sami and Lori Morcos of Alpharetta. The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department offers spring youth soccer and lacrosse leagues, and invites parents to register children for these fun recreational programs. A variety of age divisions are offered for boys and girls. Priority registration for spring soccer and lacrosse begins on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Priority registration is defined as all City of Alpharetta residents plus any City of Milton resident who participated in the same recreation program with Alpharetta Parks and Recreation in 2012. The YMCA is partnering with the cit of Milton for the new program.
Just one more day left for parents to sign their children up for YMCA/City of Milton spring soccer program. Once it's Sunday, registration will be over. To register for spring soccer, click here. Use the online IDs in the flyer posted with this article. Late sign-ups will be accepted until teams are full. This exciting new program for children and teens ages four to 13 is thanks to a partnership between the City of Milton and Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA. The city makes use of its agreements with Fulton County Schools to use its facilities for sports and recreation in the proposal.
Soccer enthusiasts in Milton ages 3 to 13 soon will have a chance to play in a city recreation program that will be run by the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA. Milton City Council approved the Y's proposal in a revenue sharing program. The Y will keep 70 percent of resident fees and Milton will get 30 percent, said John Rebar, the city's Parks and Recreation director. What Milton brings to the table is the use of new facilities. Practices begin the week of Feb. 20 at Crabapple Crossing Elementary and Hopewell Middle schools thanks to partnerships between the YMCA, Milton and Fulton County Schools.
