One Killed, 1 Injured in Cobb Crash - Marietta Patch A 46-year-old Hiram woman was killed and her 14-year-old son was injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle accident in Cobb. About 12:53 p.m. Wednesday, Delores Sibert of Hiram was driving eastbound on Dallas Highway when she attempted to make a left turned into the Village Green Shopping Center parking lot, said Sgt. Former PTA Treasurer Arrested; Man Shoots at Police During Chase

Canton Woman Arrested for Theft from Schools - Canton-Sixes Patch A Canton woman who was the former treasurer of the Indian Knoll Elementary PTA in Hickory Flat and the Sequoyah High School Girls Soccer Booster Club in Holly Springs has been arrested and charged with two counts of theft, authorities say. According to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, Kim Turman, 40, allegedly stole $12,448.61 from the Indian Knoll PTA between 2011 and 2012. One Person Shot in Alpharetta

Alpharetta police responded to a call on Serenity Court in Alpharetta Thursday night.

UPDATE 9:15 p.m. Alpharetta 911 received a cal at 6:24 p.m. Thursday about an unconscious man at a Serenity Court residence. When police and firefighters arrived, they found the victim was a man with a gunshot wound. The man was taken to North Fulton Hospital. "We have an investigation underway to determine who is responsible and the motive," said George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

Student Accidentally Shoots Herself at Grady High - Midtown Patch A 17-year-old student at a local high school shot herself in the upper leg Wednesday morning on school grounds, in what police are calling an accidental shooting. The shooting occurred on the Grady High School campus in the courtyard outside the buidlings. Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said units responded to a shooting call at the school around 9:40 am. "Preliminary information is that the gunshot was accidental and self-inflicted," Campos said, who added that the student was transported to Grady Hospital in stable condition, and the weapon has been recovered. UPDATE: Alpharetta Shooting Victim Dies

Alpharetta investigators are conducing a manhunt to find a suspect in the Whitestone Ridge shooting.

UPDATE: The shooting victim died after being taken to North Fulton Hospital Monday night. The man was shot in Stoneridge subdivision early Monday evening, and Alpharetta investigators were searching for a suspect. The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where investigators had gone to question him about the shooting, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesman George Gordon. The Alpharetta Dispatch Center received a call at 6:24 p.m. from a man who said he saw a man shot. Alpharetta police and fire units responded to the call at a townhome on Whitestone Ridge, a street within Stoneridge. They found the victim, who had been shot one time in the lower abdominal area, Gordon said. Police are conducting a manhunt for a suspect…

used to live there, many nights we had a stranger ringing our doorbell middle of the night, called the cops but nothing happened. Other nights a drunk ex-boyfriend/husband showed up in the cul-de-sac yelling, threating to fight, etc. Not an ideal place to live. VERY glad we left.   more ›

Man Found Dead Outside, Partially Clothed – Cartersville Patch Bartow County authorities are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man found outside, partially clothed. Sheriff Clark Millsap said a news release that at 11:02 a.m. on Saturday, deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to 47 Middlebrook Drive in response to a possible death.   Man Killed after Fleeing Gunman – Marietta Patch Marietta Police are investigating a murder involving an ex-boyfriend and another man.
