North Fulton Job Fair Draws 275 for 500 Positions

The next event will be held Monday, Feb. 11 at Roswell United Methodist Church.

More than 275 job seekers and volunteers took part in a "Mini Job Fair" on Dec. 10 that was a joint effort by Roswell United Methodist Church and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Almost 500 different job opportunities offered by 19 different employers in the metro Atlanta area were discussed in the job networking event. Job seekers had one-on-one conversations with employers who sought to fill the open positions. Church, Chamber Partner to Put North Fulton Job Seekers to Work

'Mini' Job Fair on Monday, Dec. 10 is the first event in which the Roswell United Methodist Church Job Networking Program and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce are partnered.

A grassroots, volunteer job networking program is forming an alliance with a group of businesses to lower unemployment and help North Fulton job seekers find work. The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the nationally-acclaimed Roswell United Methodist Church (RUMC) Job Networking Program, said chamber CEO Brandon Beach. In forming this strategic alliance, the chamber will work with the RUMC in its mission to lower unemployment and match job seekers to openings in North Fulton. The RUMC Job Networking Program – a grassroots, volunteer-led program – has a long history of success. Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Application Meeting Planned

Local residents can find out whether they meet Habitat for Humanity homeownership eligibility requirements.

The city of Roswell has partnered with an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia called North Georgia Community Housing Development Corporation to acquire approximately six homes for rehabilitation and resale to Habitat families. But in order to purchase the homes, families will need to meet certain eligibility requirements first. The organization will host a homeownership application meeting on Sunday, March 4.
