I keep hearing that complaint, but each time I've been the music volume is low enough that "Shazam" on my phone can't pick it up. Maybe it's different at night, I've only been during lunchtime.   more ›

Former Employee Charged After Paychecks Disappear

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

The manager of J. Christopher's learned that six of his employees had not received their paychecks in December, but it was a month later before any of them apparently were deposited or cashed. The restaurant manager reported the paycheck thefts on Jan. 11 to Alpharetta police. Since the employees work primarily for tips, the total amount of the checks was $262.09. The manager suspected a former employee who had access to the checks, according to the incident report. Ivan Nolasco, 29, of Alpharetta, a former employee of the restaurant, was arrested Jan. 17 on two felony counts of identity fraud and was taken to Fulton County Jail on those and an immigration issue. For questions about this blotter, email Bob Pepalis.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with new signs displaying a more prominent Ray’s logo, leading to a brighter interior with a new coastal inspired blue façade and a completely revamped bar. To celebrate these significant changes, Ray’s on the Creek is hosting a grand reopening party in January.  The …

Closed: 52 Bistro Restaurant Calls it Quits

The restaurant's general manager posted the closure announcement online.

52 Bistro is no more. The restaurant in the two-story building behind Mittie's on North Main Street could not keep up its operations. The location has served as a coffee shop and as another restaurant before the owners of Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub got involved. Read General Manager Geoff Kokoszka's letter to customers posted online at the restaurant's website: Dear Loyal Customers Thank you for all your support of our restaurant. The past two years have been full of challenges, but also full of blessings, as we came to know and enjoy our customers, our friends. Unfortunately, we have not been able to sustain a self-supporting establishment, though we did try very hard. Effective immediately, 52 Bistro has closed its doors. Please visit us …
