A 21-year-old Birmingham Road resident was arrested for felony possession of marijuana after a Milton police officer pulled over his car on April 4 because he and his passenger weren't wearing seat belts. The Milton officer spotted the car traveling westbound on Crabapple Road and west of Birmingham Highway when he made the traffic stop. When the driver opened his car door, saying the window didn't work, the officer said he smelled marijuana. The driver said he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket, which the officer found. The passenger handed over a bag with a fraction of an ounce of marijuana in it to another officer. Both were initially charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and failure to wear seat belts. But when …

A 46-year-old Alpharetta woman who identified herself was arrested after her motorcycle was clocked at 100 mph on GA 400 southbound near Windward Parkway on Jan. 29 at 7:41 p.m. The Alpharetta police officer reported that two motorcycles were clocked at that speed. The woman's motorcycle exited at Windward Parkway, while the other motorcycle continued south. She gave police a name and cell phone number for the …

A 35-year-old Alpharetta man stopped for speeding now faces drug charges as well. A Milton officer was running speed checks on Birmingham Highway near Wood Road at 12:29 a.m. on Jan. 28 when two vehicles approached at 66 mph. He pulled behind them and when the lead vehicle failed to slow down, he passed the other car and pulled behind it when it stopped. The driver smelled of alcohol, but refused both field evaluations and a breath test–but he did say he should not be driving. The officer reported the driver as saying he had two shots and two beers at Olde Blind Dog. After handcuffing the suspect, the officer reported finding a small plastic bag on the car's floorboard that contained two types of pills. The driver was cited for DUI, …
