Alpharetta Cancels Children's Easter Egg Hunt Because of Rain

It's doubtful any parents would have brought their children out in the rain and thunder, but it's official: No Easter Bunny today.

The Alpharetta Children's Easter Egg Hunt has been canceled for Saturday, March 23, due to inclement weather, the city announced on its website today. A call to the Adult Activity Center at North Park reveals the same bad news for children, but good news for parents who would have spent the rest of the day washing muddy clothes.

Flooding could be possible for Big Creek in Forsyth and North Fulton, including Alpharetta.

Shows and thunderstorms are forecast throughout the day, but the strongest chance of heavy rain won't start until this evening when enough precipitation is forecast to possibly cause flooding on Big Creek in North Fulton. Some showers and thunderstorms could produce locally heavy rains over portions of north Georgia that are already saturated leading to flash flooding of small creeks, streams and low-lying flood-prone areas. Storm total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible for north Georgia Thursday afternoon through …
