A long-time Peachtree Corners resident was hired for the city clerk position, which rounds out the three full-time employees for the new city.
Peachtree Corners Mayor and City Council recently announced that it has hired a City Clerk. The recent hire now completes the three key employees who will handle the day to day operations of the city. Kym Chereck, a 16-year resident of Chattahoochee Station in Peachtree Corners, was selected to fill the City Clerk position. Chereck has for the past 11 years worked as the recording secretary for the City of Alpharetta. She officially begins her new job as City Clerk for Peachtree Corners on Monday, Dec. 3. "We are very pleased to announce that we have offered Kym the position of City Clerk," said Mayor Mike Mason. Alpharetta's former Community Development director will start in a similar position with the new Gwinnett County city on Aug. 27.
Five weeks after resigning from a position as Alpharetta's Community Development director, Diana Wheeler has taken a similar position with Peachtree Corners. Gwinnett County's newest city named Wheeler as its Community Development director, effective Aug. 27, according to a news release from the city. Racquet Club of the South hosts week-long Atlanta Championships.
When professional tennis comes to Peachtree Corners today, it'll bring a decidedly local flavor. Not only were Georgia Tech’s Guillermo Gomez and University of Georgia’s Wil Spencer granted wild card entry into this weekend's Atlanta Tennis Championships at the Racquet Club of the South, so was Kennesaw native Robby Ginepri in a field whose seven Americans include defending champion Mardy Fish and former UGA star and 2010 finalist John Isner.
