Award-winning children's author Dan Gutman received the Milner Award during a presentation held at Creek View Elementary School on Nov. 13. Dan Gutman is the author of the Baseball Card Adventures series, My Weird School series, the Million Dollar series and the Genius Files series. The purpose of the Milner Award is to develop in children a lifelong love of reading. Every year since 1983, Atlanta-area school children vote for their favorite author and the winning author comes to Atlanta to be honored at programs attended by the children who voted.
