Local audiences may recognize some familiar faces and places in "Parental Guidance," opening Christmas Day and starring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei. Filmed in the Atlanta area, crews converged on Johns Creek's Ocee Park around Halloween last year for some pivotal Little League baseball scenes, and spent plenty of time at other North Fulton sites. Casting directors didn't have to look far for baseball players – they used members from the Ocee Athletic Association teams as extras. Park fees, cross-swearing of police officers disputed.
UPDATED 1:35 p.m.: Alpharetta responds to Johns Creek in a quote added to this story. Johns Creek and Alpharetta continue to disagree over Ocee Park polices. Johns Creek City Council members discussed how to deal with requests from the city of Alpharetta regarding non-resident park fees and officer patrols at Monday's work session. The park, which has been part of the city limits of Johns Creek since the city's inception some five years ago, lies on the border of the two cities and is surrounded by Alpharetta neighborhoods. The following information was supplied by the Johns Creek Police Department.
A woman told police that a man exposed himself at Ocee Park. On July 12 a Johns Creek Police officer was dispatched to Ocee Park after a Johns Creek resident reported the incident. The officer did not locate the suspect at the park, and met with the complainant at her residence. She told the officer that she was walking on the park's trails when she noticed a black male about 6-feet tall and in his mid-30s sitting on a bench watching her. The woman said the park was empty and she felt uncomfortable so she decided to leave. She said that as she was driving away she saw the man standing near the bench with his shorts pulled down. The woman said she did not have her cell phone with her, so she drove to the park office, but it was vacant. She …
