Mother and baby are resting comfortably at Northside Hospital.
Alpharetta residents Ivon Garcia and her husband Jose Francisco didn't quite make it all the way to Northside Hospital Monday morning when their newborn son, Joseph Francisco, decided to make an early entrance into the world, reports wsbtv.com. The baby, who weighed 6 pounds and 9 ounces, was still attached to his mother by umbilical cord and not breathing when medics arrived on scene. He was resuscitated and transported to Northside Hospital where he and his mother are doing fine, according to the report.

Jennifer and Ryan Leo of Suwanee gave birth to daughter Scarlett Rayne at Northside Hospital just after the clock struck midnight Sunday, according to an e-mail by Katherine Watson of Northside Hospital. Scarlett weighted 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 21 inches long. She joins two other siblings, sisters Adagia and Teagan. "We watched the ball drop and then she came," Jennifer Leo said. The couple had little noise makers and tiaras to celebrate the event. "It was a fun experience," said Ryan. "This was better than fireworks. Every birth is special in some way, but this one is …
