Boy Scout's Golden Eagle Breakfast Raises $30,000+

The fundraiser had a full house despite fears of black ice on Friday morning.

Despite the threat of winter weather Friday morning, the 2013 Golden Eagle Breakfast had a full house at the Metropolitan Club to support Scouting in the Milton District, raising more than $30,000. More than 60 business, civic and Scouting leaders and elected officials attended this year’s Boy Scout fund-raising event on Jan. 18 to show their support for Boy Scouts in the community. The Milton District includes Alpharetta, Milton, most of Roswell and the western half of Johns Creek. More than 3,000 youth participate in Scouting in the Milton District.The fundraiser provides funding to support the District’s summer programs, adult training, equipment and your sponsorships. Area Business Leaders Pledge $33,000 to Boy Scouts

Eagle Scout, Coca-Cola executive tell tales of Scouting and the leadership traits it fosters.

The almost 70 business leaders from Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek and a bit of Roswell who attended the Golden Eagle Breakfast pledged $33,000 to support the Milton District of the Atlanta Area Council of Boys Scouts of America this morning, Jan. 20. These business people who attended the breakfast at The Metropolitan Club aren't the active former Scouts who regularly volunteer and take part in Scouting activities, though several said they planned to start or resume that kind of work. Eagle Scout Eric Beppler, out of Johns Creek Presbyterian Church, spoke to the business people about what he's learned through Scouting, and how it has prepared him for life.
