Breeze, Light Rain Cool Off Mayor's Run and Fun

A Midsummer Night's Mayor's Run and Fun appears to have been a success Friday night in downtown Alpharetta, even if late thunderstorms ruined the outdoor movie.

UPDATED July 22 The mild sprinkles and breeze just made it more pleasant for runners and other visitors to A Midsummer Night's Mayor's Run and Fun, according to one attendee. "It rained before the race for few minutes but it didn't stop the night's activities.  The rain cooled the night for the runners and it turned out to be a great race," said Janet Rogers, president of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau.  We are already looking forward to next year's event. Alpharetta Rotary Raffling Off iPads

The drawing will be held at the Midsummer Night's Mayor's Run and Fun.

Some lucky person is going to feel luckier than the winner of the Midsummer Night's Mayor's Run and Fun 5K on the evening of July 20, as the Alpharetta Rotary Club raffles off two new iPads. The raffle tickets cost $10 each. The drawing will be held at approximately 9 p.m. on race day. The winner need not be present to win. You can buy your raffle tickets from any Alpharetta Rotarian, or through an online ticket purchasing system. The proceeds from the raffle will go to fund charities supported by the Rotary Club, including: Stand Up For Kids, North Fulton Community Charities, Home Stretch, Habitat for Humanity and Shelter Box.
