'Mini' Job Fair on Monday, Dec. 10 is the first event in which the Roswell United Methodist Church Job Networking Program and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce are partnered.
A grassroots, volunteer job networking program is forming an alliance with a group of businesses to lower unemployment and help North Fulton job seekers find work. The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the nationally-acclaimed Roswell United Methodist Church (RUMC) Job Networking Program, said chamber CEO Brandon Beach. In forming this strategic alliance, the chamber will work with the RUMC in its mission to lower unemployment and match job seekers to openings in North Fulton. A Leadership North Fulton team saw the needs of the community's unemployed as important, and set about connecting them with employers.
Job seekers in the area will get a helping hand on May 15 with the North Fulton Job Fair, which brings more than 25 companies to one location for on-the-spot interviews, and possibly even hiring. Get2Work, part of the Leadership North Fulton Class of 2012, has organized the job fair at the Roswell Adult Center at 830 Grimes Bridge Road from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event is free to companies and job seekers who participate. UGA alumni looking for jobs may want to grab their interview suits and resumes and head out the door. The University of Georgia Career Center is hosting its sixth annual UGA Alumni Career Fair Tuesday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Duluth. The Career Fair, the largest career networking opportunity for alumni in the metro Atlanta area, occurs at the Gwinnett Center Ballroom, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway. This event is only open to UGA alumni and is free to attend. Recommended attire is business professional. Last year more than 600 alumni participated.
