Isabel Gonzalez is Going to Hollywood

American Idol judges send the Alpharetta High school student to the next level of competition.

Alpharetta teen Isabel Gonzalez is going to Hollywood. American Idol judges gave her a coveted golden ticket Wednesday night. The Alpharetta High School student was nominated by her aunt, and Idol judge Randy Jackson came to her school earlier in the school year to meet her. He was impressed enough that the 16-year-old got an audition in Charlotte, N.C. And the rest of the judges joined in that praise, voting to send her to the next level of competition. She appeared on MyFoxAtlanta's Good Day Atlanta show Thursday to share her experience. Alpharetta High Student Auditions for American Idol

Isabel Gonzalez impressed Randy Jackson enough last September to gain her an appearance before all the judges, and she'll be on TV Wednesday night.

Isabel Gonzalez already impressed American Idol's Randy Jackson in his visit to Alpharetta High last September for an audition. On Wednesday night she'll be seen on the TV show trying to impress all of the Idol judges – including Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.  Gonzalez, a junior, earned an impromptu audition after her aunt wrote to the show’s producers and asked that they consider her niece’s talent. The nomination was impressive enough to warrant a surprise American Idol visit to Alpharetta High School in September, where Randy Jackson himself auditioned Gonzalez.
