U.S. Marshals Capture Alpharetta Slaying Suspect

The Fulton Sheriff's Office helped capture the fugitive after a multistate search.

A suspect in the shooting death at an Alpharetta townhome development near Old Milton Parkway has been captured. The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety announced that Shane Demetrice Woods was arrested in Georgia. Woods was captured by the United States Marshal's  Southeastern Fugitive Task Force with assistance by the Fulton County Sheriffs Office, according to George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. He has been transported to Alpharetta's jail annex. Woods was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Zachary Rose of Canton on Jan. 28. UPDATE: Alpharetta Police Offer Reward in Search for Shooting Suspect

Investigators from the Department of Public Safety are searching for Shane Demetrice Woods in connection with a shooting death on Jan. 28.

UPDATED Jan. 31, 1:05 p.m.: The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the capture and arrest of suspect Shawn Demetrice Woods. ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Alpharetta police are seeking a second suspect in the shooting death of an Alpharetta man on Monday night. Zachary Rose, 22, died after being shot in the lower abdomen during an incident on Whitestone Ridge at Stoneridge subdivision on Jan. 28. Investigators are searching for Shane Demetrice Woods, 22, a black male, who is considered armed and dangerous.
