Online Petition Seeks to Hold Alpharetta Officials Accountable

Home invasions prompt the local resident to look for public support of the petition.

Alpharetta resident Chirs Ideker started an online petition not long after learning about a second home invasion in Alpharetta in a few months. "These invasions have been in otherwise quiet neighborhoods and involved robbery at gunpoint and forced detention of the families through restraints applied by the perpetrators," Ideker says in her online petition. She's trying to get city residents to hold City Hall accountable for this issue. Since the petition was started, city officials have met with homeowners in Park Glenn and neighboring subdivisions.

"We were impressed with the response by the city and appreciative of their concern," said Chris Ideker, secretary of the Park Glenn Homeowners Association. "I could not believe size of the response from both the city officials, police and the residents. It was a very good meeting." Park Glenn had not been a PACT neighborhood (Police And Citizens Together) before a home invasion on Nov. 23, but is now. Its PACT officer …
