Alpharetta Police, Firefighters to Haunt Downtown

The members of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety will operate a haunted house to benefit Alpharetta PAL.

Downtown Alpharetta will be filled with ghost and other monsters as police officers and firefighters exchange uniforms for costumes for a community Haunted House open today and Saturday. The Haunted House benefits the Alpharetta Police Athletic League (PAL), which provides tutoring, sports, fitness and life lessons to underprivileged youth. Haunted House Concessions will be available for a nominal fee. On Saturday, the event will begin at 5 p.m. Patrons may also try their luck at some challenging games. A Halloween costume contest for two different age groups will take place at 6 p.m. so patrons are encouraged to wear their cutest, scariest, or most original costumes for a chance to win cash prizes. The Woman in Black is Haunting

The actor known as Harry Potter scares up some new material in a good old-fashioned Haunted House movie.

Daniel Radcliffe plays a single parent who settles in for several nights of terror in "The Woman in Black." Radcliffe plays Victorian Solicitor Arthur Kipps, a widower whose wife died during the birth of his son four years earlier. Despite warnings from the terrified locals, he takes up residence in a creepy old house to handle the affairs of the now deceased owner. When night falls, the supernatural world comes out, complete with wind-up toys, total darkness, and spooky images of a ghost. Radcliffe is suited for this kind of film. The Harry Potter franchise has made him an expert in the art of looking frightened…and this is one scary house. "The Woman in Black" is a creepy movie, leaving you wondering what is just beyond the camera …

Alpharetta PAL Prepares Kid-Friendly Haunted House

Costume contest, games and concessions will be available for kids again today

The Alpharetta Police Atheltic League plans a kid-friendly scary good time at its third annual Haunted House today, Saturday, Oct. 29. The haunted house opens next to Alpharetta City Hall at 7 p.m., and closes at 10 p.m. On Saturday, games will set up outside starting at 4 p.m. A costume contest will be held at 6 p.m. with cash prizes.All of that shuts down at 6:30 p.m. to give PAL time to get the haunted house open at 7. Concession stands will sell food both nights, with all proceeds going to Alpharetta PAl programs. Games are free for children, with admission $2 for kids and kids under 6 are free. Milton High School Band 3rd Annual Alumni/Parent Night Where/When? Milton High School, 13025 Birmingham Hwy, Alpharetta Why Go? All band alumni as well as all parents who once played in their high school band are invited to dust off their instruments and join the Milton Marching Band for an alumni pregame show.
