Alpharetta High Students Earn Gold from Girl Scouts
The trio assisted Alzheimer's patients, worked against obesity and renovated a community garden.
Three Alpharetta Girl Scouts were recently awarded the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award by the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. Phoebe Bumsted, Jasmine Merlette and Haley Fica were recognized at a ceremony in the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fox Theater earlier this month. The Gold Award, the highest award that a Girl Scout can earn, is given for completing an individual community service project encompassing project development, personal leadership and at least 80 hours of targeted service. Phoebe Bumsted created scrapbooks for patients with Alzheimer's Disease living at the Benton House memory care facility.
