Incumbent Fulton Sheriff, Tax Commissioner Face Election Challenges

Ted Jackson of Alpharetta runs to keep his seat as sheriff, while Johns Creek's John Jamont tries to unseat the incumbent tax commissioner.

Before you say a Democrat can't get elected in Alpharetta, remember that the Sheriff, an Alpharetta resident, did that in 2008 and is seeking to keep his post this year. Of course, it's a countywide race so it's not quite the same thing. Sheriff Five Democrats are seeking the Sheriff's office in Fulton County, with a retired chief of police, a sheriff's deputy, a retired sheriff and minister, and a sales professional all having qualified.
