Ted Jackson of Alpharetta runs to keep his seat as sheriff, while Johns Creek's John Jamont tries to unseat the incumbent tax commissioner.
Before you say a Democrat can't get elected in Alpharetta, remember that the Sheriff, an Alpharetta resident, did that in 2008 and is seeking to keep his post this year. Of course, it's a countywide race so it's not quite the same thing.
