A student from Milton will be among the 10 undergraduate students to serve as The University of Georgia’s University Scholars at the inaugural Southeastern Conference Symposium next month, according to a recent press release. The Bioenergy Systems Research Institute and the Office of Sustainability chose Tyler Faby, a sophomore finance major from Milton, to attend the symposium, which is to be held Feb. 10-12 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. A campus-wide competition was held for the distinction of University Scholar and a scholarship to the SEC Symposium. Milton tax bills will hit the mail on Thursday, Sept. 1, but you don't need to leave the comfort of your home to pay your city taxes. Online payment is again available at the city's Web site for 2011 tax bills, Finance Director Stacey Inglis said. Inglis said tax bills will be mailed Sept. 1 and are due Oct. 31. Residents who wish to pay their bill online may click here to view the city's online tax payment home page, which also contains links to frequently asked questions about taxes and a 2011 Property Tax Guide brochure.
