Alpharetta Man Dies after Fall from Bridge in South Carolina

An autopsy is pending in the Orangeburg fatality.

An Alpharetta man died Tuesday afternoon after falling from a bridge, The times and Democrat of Orangeburg, SC, reported. Orangeburg County Coroner Samuetta Marshall said William Thomas Yarborough, 43, of Alpharetta fractured his skull in the fall at a railroad overpass on St. Matthews Road. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, the newspaper and CBS Atlanta reported.

UPDATE: Duluth Man Dies in Alpharetta Water Line Accident

The 49-year-old victim was working for a Fulton County subcontractor installing water lines when the accident occurred.

UPDATED: 6:20 p.m.: A construction worker died in an accident at McGinnis Ferry Road and Windward Concourse early this afternoon, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Manuel Aguirre, 49, of Duluth, was run over by a backhoe at around noon today, Feb. 27. He was dead on the scene, said George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. The victim was working for B&H Construction Co., a subcontractor on a Fulton County water project. The company was laying water lines. Forsyth County was first called to the scene, but first responders realized the location was in Alpharetta, so the city got the call. "So we are handling the investigation," Gordon said. Fatal Plane Crash Claims Two in Forsyth County

A two-seater plane crashes in a north Forsyth County neighborhood killing two people onboard.

Two people were killed Thursday night when the single-engine plane they were flying in crashed on Lanier Drive near the intersection of Shady Grove Road in north Forsyth County. The identifies of the victims have not been released, according to Capt. Tim House of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. But Patch has learned the victims may be from Forsyth County. The small two-seater aircraft went down just before 8 p.m. crashing in the road yards away from residential homes and Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church that was holding service at the time.
