Teens Arrested for Drug Possession in Alpharetta High Parking Lot

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Alpharetta teens made a turn into a local school that added to charges against them. An Alpharetta police officer observed a black Nissan Altima going south on North Point Parkway attempt to turn left into Alpharetta High School on March 20 at 8:14 a.m. Vehicles were backed up at the entrance, so the car was blocking all northbound traffic. When the officer pulled behind the car, he reported smelling a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from it. The officer stopped the car in the school's parking lot, and spoke with the driver and passenger. A search of the car turned up a marijuana grinder in the center console and a pastic bag in the glove compartment that contained 18 smaller bags of what the officer reported was green marijuana…

Alpharetta Man Arrested on Drug Charges Outside Milton Shopping Center

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Milton police arrested an Alpharetta man on drug charges after a shoe store employee called to report a suspicious person sitting outside the business for a long time watching her. According to an incident report, when police arrived they found the suspect apparently moved from Famous Footwear to sit in front of Ru San's, just north of Target. The suspect told police first that he was waiting on a friend who was inside Kohl's, but later said the friend already had left to work at a nearby car wash where he also worked. After getting permission, the man's book bag was searched and police reported finding unused syringes in a pocket, a glass pipe and a black plastic spoon, both with a white residue on them. Milton Police Arrest Visitors to Game Store, Ex-Girlfriend's House

A 24-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after witnesses say they saw him walk into a video game store in Milton, ask for a Dr. Pepper and then knock down some displays on his way out of the store. A n employee of the GameStop store on Windward Parkway in Milton told police a man came into the store, approached the counter and asked for a Dr. Pepper. The employee told the suspect "that this is a GameStop and they do not carry Dr. Pepper," the police report said. As the suspect walked away from the display cases he knocked down, the GameStop employee said he noticed blood all over the man. So he called Milton police as he believed the suspect was under the influence and was covered in blood. Alpharetta police found the suspect at a …

Jail Search Adds to Unemployed Alpharetta Man's Troubles

  An unemployed Alpharetta man faces drug charges after being arrested on a traffic stop and taken to the Alpharetta Jail. An Alpharetta police officer checking for speeders Sept. 11 at 9:29 a.m. on Westside Parkway spotted an SUV moving faster than the posted 40 mph speed limit. A check with his laser showed the speed was 64 mph, so he made a traffic stop, according to a police incident report. The driver was found to have his license suspended for failure to appear, so he was charged with speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license. Once a deputy at the jail took charge of his new prisoner, he found the suspect had hidden a black pouch on himself that contained hypodermic needles, small spoons and several empty bags of what …

Teens in Jail on Drug Charges After Homeowner's Call

A Laurel Grove Drive homeowner's suspicions about a strange vehicle he had seen in the neighborhood several times before appeard to be correct, as two 19-year-olds were arrestd on drug charges. The Milton resident had been the victim of a theft, so he was on the lookout for suspicious vehicles and people. On July 19 at 3:55 p.m., Milton police received a call about a suspicious gray VW that had parked in the driveway of one of the homeowner's neighbors. Officers realized the vehicle fit the description of a car in reports from the department's Criminal Investigation Division. The driver gave police permission to search the car, and officers reported finding a grinder with less than an ounce of marijuana in it. They also reported …

Macon Men Arrested on Drug Charges After Picking Up Packages

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

A tip from a Postal Inspector led to a stakeout that resulted in the arrest of two men on drug possession charges on July 10. An Alpharetta detectives got a tip from a U.S. Postal Inspector that a package at a local UPS store contained cocaine. The Postal Inspector retrieved the package form the store and brought it to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, where a police dog alerted on the package. It was taken back to the store, where police officers and detectives waited to make arrests. Police waited for the first suspect to collect the package. When the man arrived, he picked up both that package and a box. Once he put the two packages into a car, both he and the driver were arrested. A search warrant was obtained, and police …

Tossing Drugs Out Car Window Attracts Attention from Alpharetta Police

An Alpharetta man just drew attention to himself when a a prescription drug bottle was allegedly thrown out of his car window after a marked Alpharetta police car pulled behind his vehicle traveling eastbound on Mansell Road just past North Point Parkway at 5:40 p.m. on July 6. Once the officer in the K9 vehicle saw the bottle tossed out of the car, he turned on his blue lights to make a traffic stop as the driver pulled into the Waffle House parking lot. At first the driver denied throwing the prescription drugs out the window, but after the passengers denied knowing or seeing anything, one of the passengers spoke to him. Then he changed his story and admitted not only that he bought the pills and tossed them out of the car window, but …

UPDATE: Road Rage Starts in Johns Creek, Ends in Wills Park

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and the Johns Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A road rage incident involving an off-duty Fulton Schools police officer started in Johns Creek and ended with a morning chase through Wills Park in Alpharetta, according to police reports from both the Johns Creek and Alpharetta police departments. The off duty officer called Johns Creek police shortly before 8 a.m. on May 29 to report that a black Nissan with no rear bumper cover attempted to ram his vehicle while at the BP gas station at the intersection of State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads in Johns Creek. He said that the passenger shouted to him to "Get the f*** out of our way," and repeated that as the two men got out of the Altima and walked toward his car as if to fight. Concertgoers Arrested for Underage Drinking, Drug Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

Several concertgoers at the Project 961 Cinco Party at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre learned that underage drinking was a ticket to jail. A 20-year-old Snellville man was in a parking lot holding a beer at 4:27 p.m. when Alpharetta police asked for his ID. After first saying he didn't have it, the man pulled out his wallet and showed his driver's license. Once he was taken to the security office at the facility, he allegedly tried to hide a bag with capsules behind the bench where he sat. A field test kit showed it tested positive for Ecstasy. Scott Alan Maroney, 20, of Snellville, was charged with possession of a Schedule I drug and taken to jail. He was released on May 8 on an $8,000 bond. Man Fleeing Milton Police Wanted on Alpharetta Burglary Charges

An Alpharetta man faces not only burglary charges, but also a citation for fleeing and attempting to elude after Milton police say he tried to escape a traffic stop. And his passenger was cited on drug charges. The Milton officer was heading to a Mountain Road address on April 30 to help Alpharetta's Criminal Investigation Division with a search warrant and an arrest warrant on several burglary counts. The suspect wasn't at that address, but the officer saw a car matching the description of the suspect driving west on Mountain Road at 6:21 p.m. He chased after the suspect, who appeared to accelerate after the officer turned on his emergency lights and siren.
