Alpharetta Police Confirm Body Found on Greenway
The remains of a man were found on the trail system south of Kimball Bridge Road.
UPDATED 6 A.M., DEC. 16: The Big Creek Greenway will be fully open today. Regular hours are from dawn to dusk. Alpharetta detectives are investigating the discovery of the decomposed remains of a man on Alpharetta's Big Creek Greenway trail system. George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, said the remains were found at a location south of Kimball Bridge Road. He said the scene is significantly in the woods, which means it is not visible from the road. No other information is available at this time.

I am a resident near where this incident took place and while I caution my family to take reasonable precautions when using the Greenway, or any other park, street or public place, I have always felt relatively safe on the trails. While this incident is alarming, I am waiting to hear more information about the circumstances to pass judgement on what if anything needs to be done by the community … more ›
