Have You Seen This Man?

Cumming authorities are looking for a man suspected of shoplifting a television from the local Target Superstore.

The Cumming Police Department has issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a man suspected of shoplifting a television from a local store. The alleged theft occurred on Aug. 10 at the Target Superstore located at 1525 Market Place Boulevard in Cumming. According to authorities, the man (pictured) was approached by a loss prevention officer at which time the suspect "produced a small revolver, black in color, and demanded to be released." The supsect then fled the scene on foot and was picked up by a white 4-door passenger car driven by a woman (also pictured).  If anyone knows the identity of either suspect, contact Detective J. Many garage sales are planned in our area this weekend, but not on Easter Sunday.

Gingrich Shares Testimony at Cumming Church

Dr. Lee and a congregation of more than 3,000 worshippers at First Redeemer welcomed former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich to the morning worship service Sunday.

Win-or-go-home time is fast approaching for the former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich. A decisive leader in the race for the Republican nomination for president just one month ago, Gingrich now finds himself in third place behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum in most national polls. Of more immediate concern, however, is a fight for survival in Georgia where the latest Rasmussen poll shows his once double-digit lead over Santorum has now shrunk to just five percentage points. That is particularly troubling since Georgia is at the heart of Gingrich's "Southern Strategy," built on the hope that a successful sweep through southern states on Super Tuesday …

Cain to Appear With Gingrich in Cumming on Saturday

The former candidate also will be on the scene at South Forsyth High School.

Herman Cain, the Atlanta-based Republican who ended his presidential bid in December, will appear with Newt Gingrich at his campaign appearance Saturday in Cumming. Cain threw his support behind Gingrich in January. "They're political soul mates," said Susan Meyers, Gingrich's Southeast Communications director. "Herman has endorsed Newt and he wants to lend his support as Newt does his first campaign swing through Georgia getting ready for Super Tuesday." Cumming Car Dealership Destroyed by Fire Sunday

Alpharetta firefighters help battle blaze on Highway 9 in Cumming, but the fire destroyed the business and at least 14 vehicles along with it.

A raging fire destroyed U.S. Auto Sales on Atlanta Road (Highway 9) in Cumming Sunday afternoon, producing a cloud of black smoke that could be seen across Georgia 400 between exits 14 and 15. No one was injured in the fire, according to Battalion Chief Jimmy Hildebrand of the Forsyth County Fire Department. It is unknown when the fire was first reported, but Cumming Patch was on the scene shortly after 1 p.m. At that time flames were consuming the structure and by the time firefighters had the blaze under control, at least 14 vehicles were destroyed. Hildebrand told Cumming Patch the owner of the used car dealership has been notified, but the cause of the fire is unknown and currently under investigation. Firefighters from Gwinnett, …
