An Atlanta woman who bought two $425 iPhones (4s models) for a man she barely knows lost the phones and the money it cost to purchase them from the Sprint store on Windward Parkway in Milton. The victim rode to the local store on the night of Sept. 23 with the man and two other people she didn't know. After buying the phones, she put them in the SUV they drove to Milton, and then went back into the store. But "at some point she realized that the subjects who had brought her there had left the location," according to the Milton police officer's report. After spending her money, the man left without paying her back for the phones. She only had a name for the man who asked her to buy the iPhones, and knew that he lived somewhere on Fairburn …

A caller from somewhere in New York started by making a bomb threat to a local Verizon Wireless building if he wasn't given all of the company's money. But on later calls he changed his request to free minutes, and then to buy the company. During the first call at 6:09 a.m. on Sept. 2, the caller told the call taker, says: "I need you to transfer all the money in your company to my phone. If you don't, I will detonate an EMT in your building." After getting the caller to repeat his request, the wireless company employee asked for the caller's phone number. The caller responded by cursing at her and hanging up. The person called a second time at 6:51 a.m. and said he was going to blow up a building if he wasn't given free minutes. The …

Alpharetta police arrested a 19-year-old Alpharetta resident and 14-year-old juvenile after someone broke into Reds Wine & Beer and stole some alcohol. Police were dispatched to the South Main Street business on Aug. 28 at 10:32 p.m. on an alarm call. They met with a key holder f the business, and looked at surveillance video. The video showed two males – one masked, the other not wearing a mask – walk up to the drive-up window and try to enter the building. The unmasked male stood next to the window and appeared to be acting as a lookout. The masked male went to the back of the building to grab a rock, and used it to break the window. Elderly Woman Struck in Great Sky – Canton Patch A woman who appears to be in her late 60s was flown to Grady Hospital in Atlanta after a SUV struck her today in Canton's Great Sky subdivision. A nanny at a North Bethany Creek Drive home returned to the home with the family's children after being out the morning of Aug. 20. During that time, a thief apparently stole computers, an iPad, a couple of iTouches, a Blu-ray player and a couple of Xboxes. The nanny told police she did not set the alarm when she left at 8:25 a.m. When she returned at 12:45 p.m., she saw a TV on the couch and called the children's mother to ask her about it. The mother asked her to check the basement, and that's when the nanny saw a TV was missing. That's when the mother called 911 to report a burglary. TVs, Laptops Stolen from Milton Home A Deerfield Point resident who left her home for just two hours found that two TVs and two laptops were missing. The Milton woman called police on Aug. 8 at 6:59 p.m. to report the burglary. According to an incident report, her 50-inch Panasonic LCD TV was missing from the living room. She also discovered that a 32-inch TV, a 15-inch HP laptop and a 15-inch Acer laptop were missing. The four items were valued at more than $1,600. Officers checked the apartment for intruders. The real estate agent reported to Milton police on July 1 that the kitchen floor and deck were heavily damaged when the oven, gas range and dishwasher were dragged out of the home. An Alpharetta man faces not only burglary charges, but also a citation for fleeing and attempting to elude after Milton police say he tried to escape a traffic stop. And his passenger was cited on drug charges. The Milton officer was heading to a Mountain Road address on April 30 to help Alpharetta's Criminal Investigation Division with a search warrant and an arrest warrant on several burglary counts. The suspect wasn't at that address, but the officer saw a car matching the description of the suspect driving west on Mountain Road at 6:21 p.m. He chased after the suspect, who appeared to accelerate after the officer turned on his emergency lights and siren. A Milton woman who put her iPad up for sale on Craigslist tried her best to protect herself from potential problems, but she still lost her iPad to a thief and had nothing of value to show for it. The woman first told a man interested in the iPad that she wouldn't talk with him until he called back from a number not blocked on caller ID. A juvenile returned to his family's Deerfield Trail home to find someone had broken in and ransacked the apartment. After calling his mother, she called police. Milton police noticed pry marks on the door. Reported missing was a TV, Sony PS3 gaming unit, camcorder, iPad, laptop and jewelry, all worth an estimated $8,110. The family's upstairs neighbor said he heard dragging sounds and doors opening and closing at around noon that day.
