Vacant Home Burglarized, $12,000 in Tools, Household Goods Taken

More than $12,000 worth of tools, appliances and household goods were reported stolen from a vacant home at 15755 Day Road to Milton police on May 11. The owner of the home said a shack on the property and a house at the rear of the property both showed signs of a break-in. A window was open to the shack, but the owner said she saw the window boarded up a week ago. The investigating officer saw a hole in the wooden door to the home, which appeared to have been kicked in. As the victim and another family member walked the property, they noted more items were missing. Racial Slur Leads To Confrontation at Milton Walmart

A racial slur allegedly uttered by a manager at a Milton Walmart landed an employee of the store behind bars.  Milton Police on April 28 arrested Alexander King, 22, of Alpharetta and charged him with battery after he allegedly punched an assistant manager face at the big box retailer at 5200 Windward Parkway, according to an incident report provided by the Milton Police Department.  According to the report, King, an employee at Walmart, told the responding officer that the day before, the manager allegedly referred to him as "boy" instead of calling him by his name. King told the officer he came to work around 3 p.m. to confront the manager and told him he "did not appreciate" the manager calling him "boy." King said he and the manager …

Milton Couple Loses $30,000 Watch to Burglar

A Milton resident told police someone stole a $30,000 Rolex watch and a $1,600 Prada handbag from her home on Friday night, March 1. The Sunflower Way resident said she left her home at 6 p.m., and returned a little more than two hours later. The alarm system had started to malfunction on Feb. 24, and she has yet to get it repaired. Also, she reported locking herself out of her home two days later, which required a locksmith to open the door. She had the locks changed after that. Milton police found a rear window unsecured, but no one was found inside. Suspect Pries Open Registers, Steals Cash from Walmart

Milton police are investigating the theft of approximately $900 in cash from seven registers at Walmart on Feb. 21. According to an incident report, a suspect entered the store on Windward Parkway at 10:39 p.m. on Feb. 21 and left by 10:58 p.m. During the time he was in the store, video shows the suspect taking a jacket off a rack and placing it on a shopping cart he was pushing. He then visited seven different registers, using a hammer and screwdriver to pry open each one. After the registers were pried open, he took the cash from them and hid it under the jacket. When he left the store, he left the jacket in the shopping cart but took the cash. A Milton investigator managed to lift several prints from the cash registers. The Walmart loss…

Cumming Man 'Returns' Goods Just Taken Off Shelves

Milton police arrested a 27-year-old Cumming man after he allegedly used store receipts to "return" goods he had just taken off shelves of the Walmart moments before. A loss prevention officer at the Walmart on Windward Parkway said the suspect was observed walking into the store on Jan. 13 without any items in his hands. He then was seen on video taking a men`s jacket, a shower curtain, and a package of paper towels off shelves. The suspect immediately took his shopping cart straight to customer service, and handed over receipts to be given cash – $39.80 – for returns. The store's loss prevention officer confronted the man in the store and asked him to talk about the returns, but the man left the store. The store employee got his license …

Rings Worth Thousands of Dollars, Cash Taken from Home

A Weycroft Circle man came home from a vacation on Dec. 22 only to discover his home had been burglarized. The victim told an officer that when he came home he found the back patio door had been shattered. He reported that two rings worth $8,000 and $400 respectively were missing, as was a purse with $800 in cash inside. Also missing were documents that contained immigration status paperwork. Suspect Wanted in 5 Georgia Counties Arrested in Milton Burglary

A parolee who has served multiple sentences for burglary was arrested for allegedly committing the same crime at 'Cue Barbecue.

Milton police charged a man with a long history of burglaries in connection with a break-in at 'Cue Barbecue on GA 9 on Sept. 26. The suspect, a 60-year-old parolee, is wanted in Lake City and Cherokee County, where arrest warrants have been issued. He is a suspect in similar crimes in Forsyth and Cobb counties, according to a release from Milton Communications Manager Jason Wright. He was arrested in Atlanta by U.S. Marshals, according to Capt. Shawn McCarty of the Milton police department. Officers suspect Samuel L. Mosley, a convicted burglar, broke into the restaurant through the back door using a crowbar at around 7 a.m.  on Sept. 26. Alleged Milton Cattle Rustler Arrested Months After Livestock Theft

A Marietta man was arrested five months after he allegedly stole a cow and kept the auction money for another cow he was to sell for his employer. The suspect was supposed to take one of a Milton man's cow's to auction in early April 2012 and return the money to him. Instead, his employer said he also took an Angus cow that belonged to his neighbor and failed to return the auction money. On Sept. 24, Milton police reported that Matthew Cody Henderson was arrested and charged with two counts of livestock theft and one count of theft by taking. He was released from Fulton County Jail on Sept. 26 $13,500 bond.
