Three Christmas Tree Drop-Off Sites in Alpharetta, Milton

Families are already dropping off their trees for the annual Bring One for the Chipper event on Saturday.

Families from across Alpharetta and Milton already have been dropping off their Christmas trees for the 23rd annual Bring One for the Chipper event on Saturday, Jan. 7, when the trees will be turned into mulch. All of the locations are in Milton, but one is designated as the Alpharetta location: Make sure you remove all decorations from your tree before dropping it off. In Alpharetta, it's the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, Keep Georgia Beautiful and other partners – the Windward Parkway Home Depot, the Alpharetta-Johns Creek Kiwanis Club, Windward Parkway Chick-Fil-A Store, and the Alpharetta Young Men’s Service League – who invite you to bring trees to Home Depot on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Trees will be chipped into mulch …

Bring One for the Chipper Will Turn Christmas Trees to Mulch

The annual recycling event will help families deal with those holiday trees once the decorations and ornaments come down.

Go ahead and buy a live Christmas Tree if you want, the city and some partners are sponsoring the 23rd annual Bring One for the Chipper to recycle them after the holidays. The Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, Keep Georgia Beautiful and partners invite you to bring trees to a neighborhood drop-off on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. only. The City of Alpharetta drop-off site is The Home Depot located at 5300 Windward Parkway. Trees will be chipped into mulch by the Davey Tree Expert Company.  Mulch is then used for public beautification projects and is available free to Alpharetta citizens.  To request mulch, please fill out the request form on the City website. Still Time Today to Bring One for the Chipper

Alpharetta, Milton Grows Green and sponsors offer the recycling program that provides free mulch.

Milton and its Milton Grows Green committee are offering Christmas Tree recycling today, Jan. 7, as part of Georgia's Bring One for the Chipper program. Alpharetta joins in partnership in the program, and the Davey Tree Company is turning the trees into mulch. But you might still be able to pick up a tree for your yard today if you drop off a tree. The Rotary Club of Alpharetta will be handing out GA Forestry Seedlings at the joint chipper event. There will be two types of seedlings available at this year's event.  While supplies last; your choice of either a red bud or a dogwood.  There will be a quantity of 500 available; 250 of each type of tree. Bring your old Christmas tree and swap it for a new tree.
