Tell the Fulton County Board of Commissioners how they should spend your tax money. The board invites residents to provide input during the final scheduled public hearing on the 2013 General Fund and South Fulton Tax District Fund budgets. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2013, as part of the first Board of Commissioners meeting of the year. Prior meetings were held during October 2012. Fulton County citizens will have the opportunity to provide their input regarding budget priorities. The Board of Commissioners welcomes and encourages all residents to participate in the hearing. The meeting will be held at the Fulton County Government Center, Assembly Hall, 141 Pryor Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30303

The 4 percent rate cut might not be much money, but it's still a savings.
Good news for Fulton County water and sewer customers: Fulton County voted to cut water and sewer rates by 4 percent starting Feb. 1, 2013. It's not a lot of money, but it will be savings. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted at their Dec. 19 meeting to cut the rates through approval of the 2013 water & sewer budget. County water and sewer customers will enjoy the lowest rates in metro Atlanta, according to a news release from the county's Public Affairs manager, Jessica A. Corbitt-Dominguez. Fulton County Commissioners Liz Haumann and Joan Garner along with Chairman John Eaves have sponsored a bill to establish the Fulton County Division of Economic Development. It includes the development of an administrative structure and proposed initial annual operating budget of $750,000 for fiscal year 2012. The division, which is supported by Commissioner Tom Lowe, will be responsible for coordinating all services and activities associated with Fulton County policy and economic development initiatives.
