Thursday night will be the first food truck event in the parking lot off Old Roswell Street, while Main Street will close on Friday and Saturday for the arts event.
Alpharetta resumes its attempts to bring residents and non-residents to downtown Alpharetta this week, using food trucks and art to draw people to this section of the city. On Thursday night the city will host its first Food Truck Alley, a weekly gathering that will take place on Old Roswell Street with a variety of rotating food trucks and music each week. Approximately 6-8 food trucks are expected, with seating available on the street. Alpharetta Food Truck Alley is presented by the City of Alpharetta and Fork In the Road, LLC. The Alpharetta Arts Streetfest lasts for two days, exposing local residents to many artistic mediums and letting children join in through free art activities.
Visitors to the 8th annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest can be assured they'll find original artwork on display and that they'll get to meet the 87 juried artists. It's required at the event in downtown Alpharetta on April 14-15. "We require that the artist has at least 80 percent original artwork with only 20 percent reproductions," said Kim Dodson, special events manager for Alpharetta. Dodson said to expect a solid show with high quality artists. I'm real excited for Food Truck Thursday. Too bad Thursday's weather forecast is the worst for the week. Just the threat of rain will keep trucks from heading up north and people from heading downtown. Hopefully the forecast will improve as the week goes on... more ›
