Winter Visual Arts Classes Begin at Alpharetta Arts Center

The classes for people of all ages start on Jan. 14.

Registration is open for visual arts classes at the Alpharetta Arts Center for everyone from "wee ones" to adults, with clayworks, building blocks of art, oil & acrylic painting and even yoga among the classes The Alpharetta Arts Center is a facility of the City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department, and is also home to the Alpharetta City Band. The department offers classes that encourage participants to express, reflect, and discover their creative side. The instructors are professional, working artists and experienced at teaching all skill levels.  Winter classes begin the week of Jan. 14 and include: Class dates, times and fees vary. Johns Creek Gets Ready for Arts Festival

Volunteers needed for Oct. 27-28 event.

As Johns Creek gets ready for its first annual Arts Festival, the city's Communications Manager Grant Hickey and Chief of Staff Patty Hansen took time to tell Patch what's in store for the 20,000 visitors expected to attend. Taking place over the Oct. 27-28 weekend, the city has partnered with Arts on the Creek, the Johns Creek Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Atlanta Athletic Club to build on the arts festival previously produced by Arts on the Creek that took place on Perimeter Church grounds. "We were looking for a way to take it to the next level, and make this a regional event," said Hansen. Last Chance: Register Your Child to Decorate an Egg, Bunny or Chick

The Alpharetta Arts Center presents the skill-building exercises in celebrating Spring, but you've got to register for this free workshop.

The Alpharetta Art Center plans to "Celebrate Spring!" with the little ones, but you've got to register your children for this free workshop. Children ages 3-7 will get go decorate an egg, bunny or chick during the Tuesday, March 27 workshop, so call or email to pre-register–or to just ask questions to find out more. Wee ones will create 3D art from cut paper. Skill building includes basic design, coloring, cutting, gluing, and arranging elements to create a unique piece of hanging art.  Don't just drop your child off: An adult must attend and participate with the child for this art workshop. Children Can Recycle 'Trash' Into Artwork Treasures

The Alpharetta Arts Center hosts a class for kids ages 3-5 on Thursday.

Children ages 3 to 5 can create a new piece of art work from recycled materials at the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department’s Create a Recycled Treasure workshop on Thursday, Sept. 22. The workshop will be held at the Alpharetta Arts Center in Crabapple Government Center from 10 a.m.-11:15 a.m., according to a release from the city. Artwork will be created in class and ready to take home and hang up. Children and parents are encouraged to bring any old supplies left around the home such as buttons, beads, photos, bottle caps, etc. All other supplies are provided.
