Another Rabies Case in Forsyth; Months Old Robber Case Not So Cold

Person of Interest Identified in Dunwoody McDonald's Armed Robbery - Dunwoody Patch Dunwoody police have identified another person of interest in connection with the dramatic Jan. 7 armed robbery of a local McDonalds. Police want to question Devante Davis (aka Vante Dirty Dreads), in connection with the robbery. Two other suspects have already been arrested:Dejaun Anthony Simmons, 19, and Carlin Caleb Tibbs, also 19. Woman Found Dead in House Fire; Mom Indicted in Starvation Death

Woman Found Dead in North Forsyth House Fire - Cumming Patch Firefighters responding to a house fire early Sunday morning found a woman's body inside the residence, according to authorities. Division Chief Jason Shivers of the Forsyth County Fire Department said fire crews were dispatched around 1:08 a.m. to 5145 Shady Grove Road in northeast Forsyth County where a fire was burning a single-family house. Armed Man Attempts Robbery at Von Maur

The suspect followed an employee into the store, but left when she told him she couldn't open the safe.

A Von Maur employee got quite a scare when a man came into the store before opening hours and pointed a gun at her. The employee said she arrived at the store at 6:30 a.m. on March 27, walking through the employee door near the loading docks. It took a personal code to open the employee door, and she said she's sure she closed it behind her. A minute or two later a heavyset man who was wearing a dark hoodie and pants, with a camouflage mask covering his face entered the store. According to the incident report, the suspect pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at her and asked, "Do you have the keys to the safe room and the code to the safe?" Crimes May Escalate by Man Who Robbed Roswell, Alpharetta Businesses in 1 Hour

The Shell in Roswell and the Waffle House in Alpharetta were both hit.

Roswell Police believe the man who robbed two businesses within Roswell and Alpharetta over the course of one hour back in January is probably desperate and his crimes may escalate, according to a report by wsbtv.com. Shell on Holcomb Bridge Road has released its surveillance video of the gun-wielding man who demanded cash and cigarettes. (Click here to see the video on wsbtv.com) He apparently then left the gas station and drove north to rob the Waffle House on Mansell Road in Alpharetta. Police are still search for the man.

Baby-Toting Robbery Suspect Arrested - Buckhead Patch A suspect in the Buckhead baby stroller robberies has been arrested, according to Atlanta Police. Brandon Lawson was identified as a suspect after APD released images of a man and woman with a stroller who were wanted in two armed robberies in Buckhead over the Labor Day weekend. Lawson was found and arrested in Macon based on tips from the public. Atlanta police say they expect him to be returned to Atlanta to face charges in the two robberies. In one instance, a victim told police he heard a crying baby in the carriage that the suspects had with them. Gwinnett Planning Commissioner Charged With Bribery, County Commissioner Sentenced

  Gwinnett Commissioner Sentenced to 33 Months - Duluth Patch Former Gwinnett County Commissioner Shirley Lasseter, 64, was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison without parole in federal district court in Atlanta Wednesday (Sept. 5) for accepting bribes. Lasseter pleaded guilty May 31 to accepting $36,500 in bribes during 2011 from an FBI agent posing as a South Florida real estate developer to support a proposed real estate development in her district. Lasseter resigned from her District 1 seat on the Gwinnett County Commission that day. She represented Duluth, Suwanee and Sugar Hill on the commission. Her son John Fanning, 34, of Dacula, and Carl “Skip” Cain, 65, of Flowery Branch, pleaded guilty in May to participating in the …

Alpharetta Police: Carjack Suspect Beat Teen with Handgun

The 16-year-old had just arrived at North Point Mall to drive her dad home from work with the family car.

Chilling details have come out about a crime spree that started in Forsyth County before heading to Alpharetta and then Duluth, involving armed robbery, auto theft, carjacking and terroristic threats. A Gainesville man remains in Forsyth County Jail on charges stemming from the incidents. Arrests Made in Alpharetta Carjacking, Armed Robbery

Forsyth County investigators arrest a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a family member's car and guns who also is wanted in Alpharetta for armed robbery and carjacking.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a carjacking and a separate armed robbery n Alpharetta last week, and on car theft and gun theft charges in Forsyth County. The armed robbery took place at BeJewel, a Windward Parkway business, on Aug. 17 at 12:49 p.m., according to George Gordon, spokesperson for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. The carjacking took place in the parking lot of a local mall on Aug. 17 at 8:40 p.m. Since then, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigative Division has been conducting investigations.
