Three special events will commemorate the anniversary this month.
Alpharetta's Village Tavern is excited about 13 years of being a part of the local community; and to celebrate they're hosting several "unique events" throughout March, according to information recently provided by the restaurant. Here's what you can expect: St. Patrick’s Day A traditional Irish meal will be served for St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17, at Village Tavern. The restaurant will dish up corned beef and cabbage to celebrate the Irish holiday. Adding to the festive meal, guests can sip on O’Dempsey’s Big Red Ale, brewed locally in Atlanta, Ga. Do you miss the January 2011 snowstorm? Check out our slideshow of last year's wintry weather. Then take our poll and let us know how you feel about the frozen stuff.
A year ago today, metro Atlantans were battling a bear of a snowstorm. The storm dumped a half a foot or more of snow on the ground, closing schools for a week, disrupting some government services and leaving many of us in hibernation until the frozen stuff finally thawed. We may have temps in the 60s this week, but Patch wanted to share some cool images from last year's storm, shot by our editors, correspondents and readers. Enjoy.

Milton turned 5 years old the other day, and the city honored those who have served as employees or elected officials since that time. The occasion was the Dec. 5 City Council meeting at City Hall. The "Mayor for the Day," 15-year-old Milton High student Max Moorman, helped honor the city's longest serving officials.

If it's going to be cold, I want snow! Send me a note and I'll pick uop your groceries! I learned to drive in the stuff at an early age. Unless it's pure ice (or compacted snow), no worries here. Problem in this area is watching out for the other guy who doesn't know how to drive in the stuff.   more ›
