Shoppers will find room decorations, clothes, handbags, books, toys, sleepover stuff, sports items and so much more. Accessories in every style and color are available. Teens can buy wallpaper and accessories for their lockers at school. Science kits and creative craft kits in a wide variety are available. Kids from local schools have even brought in their handmade items to sell on consignment as part of the owner's entrepeneur program she has began. The best part of the shop is …

The store moved from Johns Creek to its current location on McGinnis Ferry just this past April. Trudy Morse is the owner of Emily's Closet. She moved to Georgia about 10 years ago when her husband got a job transfer that took them from Illinois. The couple settled in Cumming. The opportunity to buy this shop just sort of fell into her lap and she jumped on it, taking a break from retirement to make it a reality. Morse enjoys her boutique and it shows. She talks about how she appreciates and enjoys her customers so much. Many of them are regulars who come in just about weekly to see what is new in the store. …

Milton High Student Opens For Icon Rock Band, Blondie

Armed with a soulful voice and an acoustic guitar, 15-year-old Lexie Babin is making a name for herself in the music world.

The eighties band Blondie rocked the night away last Friday at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in a concert titled "Blondie for Boobies" that was promoted by radio station B98.5 in support of breast cancer awareness. Before the crowd enjoyed familiar classics like "You've Got To Fight For Your Right To Party," a 15-year-old Milton High School student, Lexie Babin, reminded everyone what the night was about with her song "Remember". Lexie's dad works with Atlanta radio and when a colleague heard Lexie's song, they tought it'd be a great addition to the benefit concert because of its heartfelt message. As a tribute to those who have been affected by breast cancer "Remember" begins with "Wipe away those tears, I know you're in pain" and …

Patch to Track the Changing American Dream

With your help, the stories of our community will be revealed in 'Dispatches: The Changing American Dream'

We're excited to inaugurate a new series for our Patch Readers: "Dispatches: The Changing American Dream." Every day, the national media is full of stories about how American families, businesses, and neighbors are adjusting to these trying times. There are so many changes happening so fast that it's dizzying: national debates about unemployment, foreclosures, debt, religion, government and private enterprise all touch on fundamental ways in which we see ourselves and our communities. At Patch, we want to explore that conversation on a daily basis so we can better understand how our neighbors are adjusting to the challenges and opportunities that surround us. We don't think there's one American Dream, but a multitude of American Dreams …
