Modest Growth Predicted for North Fulton Schools

School board members ask if 5-year projections for Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell schools are too modest.

Fulton County Schools are projected to grow enrollment by nearly 5,500 students over the next five years with comparable growth among the North Fulton, Sandy Springs and South Fulton areas, the school district predicts.  However, some school board members are asking if the projected growth in North Fulton is too modest. In North Fulton, which includes Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell and Milton, an increase in new home closures has led the school system to project some growth in schools in the region. Milton Beats Alpharetta 35-28 in High School Football

The Eagles held off a threat by the Raiders to snatch victory from the visitors in the final two minutes of play.

It looks like Milton High will soon be getting a visit from Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle to serve lunch, as the Eagles sent the Raiders to defeat, beating the home team 35-28. Belle Isle and his counterpart in Milton, Joe Lockwood, had a bet in the first "Mayor's Matchup" that the mayor whose team lost would go to the other school and serve lunch one day. The Alpharetta High Raiders scored twice in the final two minutes of the game to threaten the Milton High Eagles, but fell short in the end. According to the statistics supplied by the "Milton Stats Guy," Bill Berry, Alpharetta got into the end zone first. A six-yard pass from Josh Gobbs to Rodney Morris put the Raiders on the board, and Thomas Waller's PAT made the score 0-7. The …

Federal Judge Rules Against Alpharetta HIgh Student

Reuben Lack lost his suit to be reinstated as the school's student body president.

Alpharetta High student Reuben Lack has lost his legal battle Monday, April 23, to regain his position as student body president, the AJC and WSB TV have reported. U.S. District Judge Richard Story had previously rejected a request by Lack's attorney for immediate reinstatement through a temporary injunction. On Monday he again ruled against Lack. Lack claimed his rights were violated when he made a proposal for Prom Court instead of having a prom king and queen so gay and lesbian students wouldn't be excluded. But other students said the king and queen weren't elected as a couple, so anyone could have been elected as king or queen. While Lack said he held more meetings than his predecessors and was more active in school issues, the school…
