Alpharetta offers art workshop for kids ages 3-6.

The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department invites children age 3 to 6 years accompanied by an adult to register for "Love Birds for Valentine's Day" art workshop. This free workshop will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Crabapple Government Center/Alpharetta Arts Center. Children will create beautiful love birds using cut-outs and lots of imagination. Birds will have a piece of yarn attached for children to hang in a special place in their home. The love birds also make a great gift for a special Valentine. Space in the program is limited. For more information and to pre-register, call 678-297-6165 or email arts@alpharetta.ga.us.

Registration is open for visual arts classes at the Alpharetta Arts Center for everyone from "wee ones" to adults, with clayworks, building blocks of art, oil & acrylic painting and even yoga among the classes The Alpharetta Arts Center is a facility of the City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department, and is also home to the Alpharetta City Band. The department offers classes that encourage participants to express, reflect, and discover their creative side. The kids and staff are almost done with a mural for the community to enjoy for years to come.
If you’ve driven down Broadwell Road in the historic Crabapple community lately you may have noticed an extra splash of color. That’s because staff at the Alpharetta Arts Center have decided that their building needs a new look. Creative director Nancy Suttles says that most people aren’t even aware that there is an art center nestled inside the unassuming white and brick building located on 12624 Broadwell Road, which also houses the Alpharetta Municipal Court and North Fulton Senior Services. She and other colleagues have found a great way to remedy that with a mural that she refers to as the “Secret Garden.” Located on the outside wall of the Alpharetta Arts Center this enchanting mural features a sun surrounded by flowers and critters…
