Balloons Released in Honor of 16-Year-Old Alex Koser

Friends and family gathered in a Kroger parking lot to remember the life of Alex Koser, who passed away last week.

Tears and laughs were shared Thursday afternoon as family and friends gathered at the Kroger parking lot in Windward Commons to participate in a balloon release to honor the life of 16-year-old Alex Koser. Koser, who was tragically killed in his Milton home on Sunday, Feb. 12, was a student at Alpharetta High School and many of his fellow classmates showed up to pay their respects. Xavier Williams, a junior, had two classes with Alex and said that he was a good person. “I hope he is doing good and is in a better place,” says Williams. Koser’s mother, Patricia Brandon, and his aunt, Camille, are employees at the Kroger supermarket. “Patricia and Camille are so special to us and we wanted to do something to honor Alex’s memory,” said store …

Balloons Flying Over Community in Memory of Teen

The coworkers of a mother whose son died last Sunday are celebrating his life with a balloon release at the Windward Kroger.

A memorial balloon release in honor of Alex Koser, who died tragically last Sunday, is being held this hour at the Kroger on Windward Commons. "His mother, Patricia, and sister, Camille, associates of the Windward Commons Kroger truly appreciate all the love and support during this difficult time," a flyer advertising the event said. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. and the community was invited. Stop by and pay your respects and support the family.

Thank you to Kroger for doing this! How nice it was to see the community pull together. I took my little one and this is what he wrote on the balloon: "Hi Alex. I don't know you but I hope you are happy wherever you are. You must have been a good person." My heart breaks for his family. RIP Alex.   more ›

Family Holding Prayer Vigil for Milton Teen

Alex Koser was remembered at Alpharetta High today, and this evening he will be memorialized at his church.

The family of Alex Koser, an Alpharetta High School student who died at his Milton home on Sunday, is holding a prayer vigil for him tonight at St. James United Methodist Church on Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta. Alpharetta High Principal Shannon Kersey invited the students and families from the high school to attend the prayer vigil, which will be held from 6-7 p.m. at the church, which is just west of Westside Parkway and next door to Alpharetta Fire Station No. 1 "I want to thank all of the teachers and students for pulling together today to support each other as we began the grieving process for our beloved student, Alex Koser," Kersey said in her email invitation.
