Video: Milton State Champs Cheer Soccer Team to Victory

The high school's boys lacrosse team, fresh from winning their own state title, came straight to Milton Stadium.

What do you do when you've won the state title as AAAAA boys lacrosse champions? That was easy for the Milton Eagles. They came home from defeating Lassiter in overtime to cheer the Lady Eagles on to victory in their state title soccer match. The freshly crowned boys lacrosse team arrived at Milton High School's stadium at halftime in the girls soccer match against Northview. Victory was far from certain at that point. After being cheered on by Milton fans celebrating their win over Lassiter, the boys began to chant and cheer for the Lady Eagles, who seemed happy to see Milton's second state champs of the day on hand. Milton Eagles Win Lacrosse, Soccer Titles

The Lady Eagles soccer team closes out the day of state championship victories.

Three title games. Three state championships. Milton High School teams won titles games in girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse and girls soccer. The girls lacrosse team took the first championship, defeating Roswell at home at Milton High's stadium. The boys were next to win, but that victory wasn't sealed until overtime in the boys lacrosse championship against Lassiter. Finally, the girls soccer team took on North Fulton rival Northview and won, 4-0, to make the school 3-0 in state championships on Saturday.

Title Town? Milton High Tries To Add Lacrosse, Soccer Trophies

Boys and girls lacrosse teams, plus the Lady Eagles soccer team try to match the boys and girls golf teams with state championships.

Milton sports fans will have a tough time deciding where to go on Saturday night. Boys' and girls' varsity lacrosse teams play in state championships at Lassiter and Milton, while while the girls' soccer team will be hosting another state title game in Milton. Milton High beat Walton 20-9 to reach the girls AAAAA lacrosse title game. Despite the Alpharetta Raiders losing on Wednesday night, it's still an all-North Fulton game: the Roswell High School Hornets girls lacrosse team beat the Lady Raiders. The Lady Eagles beat Etowah (22-4) and Mill Creek (21-3). On Wednesday night, they defeated Walton 20-9 on their way to the state title game against the Hornets. Lady Raider Lacrosse Team Makes Playoffs

The Alpharetta High School team plays Roswell on Wednesday.

The Alpharetta High School Lady Raider Lacrosse team continues to have success in the AAAAA State Playoffs has made it to the semifinals for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, their cross-Patch rival, the Milton High School Lady Eagles, will visit Walton in the other semifinal game. The men's team also made it to the playoffs, visiting Lassiter today at 7 p.m. The Milton men's team will visit Etowah in the other Final Four game, also at 7 p.m. After wins over Kennesaw Mountain and Peachtree Ridge, the Lady Raiders are now in the Final Four for the second year in a row. The third round game to decide the State Championship contender will be held at Alpharetta High School on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. versus Roswell. The State …

Alpharetta Thunder Lacrosse Team Goes Undefeated

The Boys U-11 team won all eight games this spring.

The Alpharetta Thunder Boys U-11 Lacrosse team completed a perfect season, going undefeated this spring. The boys from throughout the Alpharetta and Milton area finished the season 8-0. 'Parents Are the Ultimate Local Control'

Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 797 at Cherokee Charter Academy in Canton, where he was awarded the 2012 Champion for Charters Award from a national charter schools group.

With Cherokee Charter Academy students flanking him, Gov. Nathan Deal this morning signed a bill that he said will provide Georgia families with choices when it comes to public education. Golden Games Open Wednesday in North Fulton

Sports competition for senior citizens kicks off at Newtown Park on May 2.

For the first time, the Opening Ceremonies of the North Fulton Golden Games will be hosted by the City of Johns Creek, May 2, at Newtown Park.  In the 18-year-history of the games, the opening ceremonies have always been held in either Roswell or Alpharetta.  “We in Johns Creek are proud and excited to kick off the 18th annual North Fulton Golden Games,” said Mayor Mike Bodker. “We welcome senior athletes from across North Fulton as they test their skills and set an active example for the rest of us to follow.”  The festivities start at 9:30 a.m. at Park Place, the city’s active adult center.  A friendly competition featuring the mayors of North Fulton will kick things off.   Pre-registered participants should check in at Park Place by 9 a…

Milton, Alpharetta Kick Off Football Season

The Cambridge High Bears open their first season as the school opens.

Alpharetta High will host Milton High in their football season opener on Aug. 31, according to a schedule released by the GA High School Association. The 6-AAAAAA Milton Eagles have their home opener a week later against Johns Creek, the first of three home games against North Fulton opponents. Alpharetta's Raiders, in 5-AAAAAA, hit the road for two weeks, and then settle into a schedule that has every other game at home, starting with games against three Forsyth County high schools.
