KKK breaks into a few homes and then comes to the rescue. An age old strategy.

How do you really know they are up? They could be sleeping underneath those capes. I would thinkRead More you would wear something more scary like a Michael Myers of Leatherface mask, thought would work better I would think.

Democrats started the KKK also, democrats also were the only opponents of the civil rightsRead More legislation !

After reading some of these comments I would hate to be in a catastrophic situation with some ofRead More you. You have clueless victim written all over you.

Tim April 24, 2014 at 05:22 pm
Paul, your diatribe proves my point, ignorance of the law is no excuse. You must pass a backgroundRead More checkto buy a gun, you must also pass another background check to obtain a permit. Also, this is the very first time I have ever posted in the Patch, I am a resident of Paulding, an Independant, and not a troll. Show me one lie or incorrect post I made about the facts in the state of Georgia or HB60. Would be glad to retract. Debate is healthy, calling names and insinuating is juvenile.
paul April 24, 2014 at 06:31 pm
Tim, You are correct, and I owe you an apology. I was mistaken in my initial belief that you hadRead More posted in the past. However, I do not see how your point about background checks shows my ignorance of the law as I did not not address the issue of background checks prior to obtaining a permit. Please re-read my comment. I commented on Frank's point about law-abiding citizens going bad after getting a permit. How does this show ignorance? Moreover, by stating that you (mistakenly by me) and the others are "trolls" is not name calling or juvenile in the playground sense. I was not implying that you or the others have the looks of a troll or are homeless and live under a bridge. "Troll" as used by me is an acceptable internet term referring to those who purposely disrupt conversations with inflammatory remarks, and one is not immune from being a troll simply because he is an Independent living in Paulding County, GA.

I don't disagree with you that we're becoming less and less a free country but it's wrong to blameRead More democrats alone. It wasn't dems alone that passed the patriot act. It hasn't been dems alone that have been re-uping it since it was passed the first time. On how bad Hillary will be as a president. Every president is bad in some ways. Reagan raised taxes more than a dozen times. Bush took us to war on two fronts with no way to pay for it. Clinton signed DOMA and DADT. Obama gave away the farm in order to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Papa Bush said that atheists shouldn't be considered Americans. Sure Hillary will be a bad president in some ways.... they are all bad in some way. I can tell you this much though, any president is going to be a worse president when the publicly stated goal of the opposition is to obstruct that president at any and all opportunities. The dems did it to Bush. The republican'ts are doing it to Obama. It's like Palestine and Israel, they'll fight to the death out of spite and habit, neither one of them knowing which one threw the first punch and not caring because winning is the only goal. What America needs are citizens that go into government for the good of the country instead of the good of their party.
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 03:03 pm
Oh, one last point on your last post B. Dub. "Hillary presidency combined with a DemocraticRead More Congress." Ain't gonna happen. Republicant's have gerrymandered the states to absolute death. They have the House for the foreseeable future and they have a good chance at getting the Senate. I can't guarantee you who's going to win in 2016 but I can very well guarantee you that no one party will take executive and legislative branches, both.

with caller ID they should be able to point to the caller. Sorry but an out of state telephoneRead More number should be a tip off.
Eddie April 24, 2014 at 08:52 am
The caller used Skype, via the Internet, and will probably never be found if he took certainRead More precautions unless he's running his mouth about this prank.
Bob West April 24, 2014 at 06:20 pm
@ eddie, I wouldn't mention any specific phone-calling service in case any other arseholes areRead More looking for tips. But for better or worse, those calls are traceable. They have "add-ons" that can fool your friends, but certainly not the NSA. BTW, that phone service was bought by Microsoft a couple of years ago- so much for any illusion of confidentiality. By using it, you "opt in" to give up your privacy, just like with G-mail. Using a computer to make a prank call is a dumb move in itself. Any computer transmits a wealth of information. Non-smart phones are a lot less traceable than anything else. Have you ever seen how many items advertisers and other web sites use to uniquely identify your computer? They can't tell your name but track your unique computer. It's called "computer fingerprinting." As soon as you give your name at a web site they track, they've got you. Check this site sometime to see how unique your computer is-- https://panopticlick.eff.org/ .... I suspect that nobody's putting much effort into tracing this call, because in the big scheme of things, they've got more serious things to deal with. (Unfortunately, unlike our local PDs.) Shame this idiot got so much publicity from his crime. I think the glorifying news "perp walk" should be stopped in virtually all cases.
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.
Jimmy Vierwepps April 24, 2014 at 06:29 pm
The Supreme Court is Silly, The Cheif Justice Robert Court is Silly, What do I mean a law is beingRead More pushed in Russia that if your curse in public it is a crime, if you are an elected official it is double. To believe after 50 years we as a country is just going to have people in the power of education, jobs, housing, health, can harm another American because he or she is bias, and that can be the difference of living on the street or competiting for the real thing. Second the Robert court say that if you are arrested and you say no one in my house without a search warrent and a second person is their who does not live there and is there when you get arrested they can say yes and that can be used against you. I believe the 4th amendment. not for sure. This is Silly. The harm is long term. How do you fix the decision at the Schools State School All students who are from the state comes first and out of state students come second Study abroad students come first if there are more students from the state they get all the slots. That will fix it.
Jimmy Vierwepps April 24, 2014 at 06:32 pm
I meant out of state students come third. Then everybody from that state gets a chance. The money isRead More in the Out of state student and the Students who want to study from another country. Why are we denying our State born students a slot at the school. The Out of State Student and the Study abroad student have no standing if a qualified student with a GPA of 2.0 then that student has a right to go to that school. Thats is the solution

@ Michael Hipp 1. The same Ten commandments I referred to in my response to jMichael. 2.The rest ofRead More your questions aren't really questions, just insults. Shall I respond to you with insults as you and your friend have been? This seems to be a common theme when confonting liberals with facts. You have nothing to discuss so out come the insults. You lost the arguement before you even started. You and your freinds are suffering from a mental disorder and you should seek the services of a phsychologist for your own good.
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 01:56 pm
Okay Chris. So the ten commandments that we follow are the ones that say don't covet yourRead More neighbor's ass... which means no capitalism since capitalism is built on envy. How exactly are America's laws built on that particular 10 commandments again? NEW PARAGRAPH The second point that I made, which you call an insult, referred to your assertion that you should be able to vote on my constitutionally guaranteed marriage rights. That's not an insult, it's a challenge to you to explain to me why you think you should get to vote on my marriage rights, or in other words, if you can vote on my marriage rights, why was I never afforded the opportunity to vote on your marriage rights. NEW PARAGRAPH The last point I made originally directly countered your assertion that a gay judge shouldn't be allowed to rule on an issue that involves homosexuality. My assertion was that your idea is stupid because what you're saying is that no heterosexual judge should be able to pass judgement on any issue involving heterosexuality... which would mean that we could only have inter-sexed judges. What part of that was an insult to you exactly? NEW PARAGRAPH Now to your assertion in your last response where you tell me that I (who is my friend btw? I know nobody here) I have a mental disorder because I insult you when you come at me with facts. You are just going to have to explain that one to me.... it makes absolutely no sense. I didn't insult you and I don't know of any facts that you've come at me with.
Chris P April 24, 2014 at 06:23 pm
@Michael Hipp 1. You've somewhat misinterperted the meaning of that commandment. While to covetRead More something would be to desire or to want something this commandment goes much further. The meaning is more closer to wanting or desiring some thing to the point of behaving in such a way that would unjustly benefit you at someone else's expense. There is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself or better your lot in life so long as it is not done in an unjust manner. 2. When you attempt to redefine something as major as marriage to fit a narrow need, do you not think it would be appropriate to have everyone weigh in on this? 3. You did not understand what I stated. The Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court was, by her own admission, considered an activist in the gay marriage movement. However she was straight. The point is that she favored a favorable outcome, was not impartial, therefore she should have recused herself. 4. The response this will be interesting. Perhaps I should not have used the word "disorder" as it has a negative connotation and this thread is about marriage and not about the idea of being homosexual. Not meant as an insult and apologies if it was taken that way. I heard it here and in other discussions that those who are gay claim they were born that way. So in layman's terms my conclusion would be be that your brain is "wired" differently than others. Would we be in agreement with that?
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.

Gary's post is full of falsehoods.
CowDung April 24, 2014 at 12:22 pm
"Agreements or addenda" are not part of the Common Core. Again, if states are doing theirRead More own thing by adding stuff or agreeing to do something different, it isn't Common Core.
Millsey April 24, 2014 at 02:46 pm
If it's on the internet it must be true? A small group of parents make up some "facts" andRead More post it on random news sites. So it must be true? I'm in favor of trusting the actual sources of the program over a blog that someone created because they are afraid of their kids getting a better education.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup!
