The Velvet Note Continues to Bring Top-Notch Entertainment
The Hibbard Wright Project performs at the Alpharetta venue and two art galleries open this weekend.
The Hibbard Wright Project at The Velvet Note: Atlanta-based Grammy Award- winning saxophonist Mace Hibbard has been leading and recording with a formidable quintet for the past 10 years while over that same period, Roswell-based guitarist Trey Wright has led the 4-piece Athens/Atlanta-based Squat jazz band and is now leader of his own trio. What they both have in common is a creative rhythm section of bassist Marc Miller and drummer Marlon Patton. On the self-titled The Hibbard/Wright Project, both men leave their respective groups behind and join forces with the rhythm section they share, forming an all new quartet for this outing. Showtimes: 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. 4075 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta.
das Gallery Opens Off Old Milton Parkway: This state-of-the-art gallery, located near downtown Alpharetta at 2225 Old Milton Pkwy, Suite 400, Alpharetta will celebrate its grand opening to the public on Saturday, Nov. 16 from noon-7 p.m. Visit this exhibition of contemporary original paintings, mixed-media, and sculpture by established artists.
Historic Home Reopens as Art Gallery:Â A 19th Century home will become Alpharetta's latest art gallery next month, with the works of 20th Century masters being highlighted. The Sedgwick Gallery will be a fine art gallery in historic downtown Alpharetta, celebrating its grand opening Nov. 15-17 at 61 Roswell Street. The Skelton-Teasly House is one of the city's oldest homes.
